Was idly watching a few reivew vids and found this: Such a thing is new to me (I know, I know, you lot have been there and got the T-shirt, but not I ) At first I thought Ooh, and everlasting Vision clearo and owndered if it might be worth chucking a few quid at. Then I thought it's neither a dripper, nor a tank, so why bother? If you wanted a dripper, you would go for the less wieghty option and maybe put it on a squonker. If you wanted a tank, you'd get a tank - perferably with a better wicking arrangement and larger capacity. Worse than that, a long trip to Ft reveals most of them are for dual coils, with airflow to match and four wick holes, so not really an option if you just want to use a single coil MTL set up as I would not being a cloud chaser or sub-ohmer. Then I stumbled across this: Which looks interesting - dripping without the faff, but a single coil set up and 2 ml. For a MTL vaper using high strength juice might be worth a punt. So can you all enlighten me a bit. Are RTDAs any use? Do they leak? Is the flavour worth it?

Yes. No. Possibly. Rather than a tank its more a dripper with a large juice well, that if wicked correctly wont piss out every where if you accidentally knock the mod over. They were a bit of a faff on a mech/box mod but they are quite handy to have on a squonker as the juice is easily replenished. Flavour is subjective if you already use a dripper theres no difference but they dont (IMO) duplicate the flavour you will get from an RTA if thats what youre used to..

BS marketing term IMO, only thing like a dripper is the coil is closer to your gob, but basically the same layout as genesis tanks (where the coil was closer to your gob) all be it for cotton with larger coils and airflow.

Fair point - the world of vaping is no stranger to marketing BS. I know I've been gulled by it on the past. That being said, the alternative i.e. RDA and squonking, seems to me to be a great way to spend £70quid odd on a battery box with a hole in it with the only benefit being longer time between refills. So it goes...

Never had one, never felt the need and yes get squonking. I'm a recent squonking convert and it's just simply the best imo 😆👍😊

' RDTAs RTAs- what is point?' Just corrected the title for You!! Seriously tho'; I've got an Avocado clone that works best with tiny wittle wicks just poking into the tank (tried it with Rayon right down into tank & mesh 'U' wicks...Agg!...). Also a Squonk Convert....can't see any point in B/F'ing a tank....the advantage (imo...) being to deliver just enough juice to the wicks & syphon the excess back to the bottle...

Well yeah, I get squonking as a concept - back in the day I messed around with some very rudimentary drippers, got some nice vape but too much faff topping it up all the time. Back then squonking was a rare novelty item but the idea is sound. What bothers me is the cost of the kit, much of which is rather basic and shoddy and current implementations still require a lot of faffing and extra bits and bobs to get right. I'm not sure I want to spend that kind of money just yet. Also there are only one or two regulated squonkers (at eyewatering prices) most seem to be glorified battery boxes only a few of which are at all pretty. Hence my question, I suppose...

I did get the IJOY limitless plus which is OK but with a rda on top of a tank you have to extend the cotton or tilt the tank to refresh the cotton same as a genesis style tank. Squonking seriously into at the moment and a pico squeeze and hadaly clone is a cheap but excellent start. Have the coppervape and boxer as well. Just waiting for the Hussar from fasttech www.fasttech.com/p/7981000 which is a little like what your asking with a 2ml well. My dream is a regulated squonking mod such as the drone. Christmas is coming

Why have an RDTA rather than just a bottom fed dripper on a squonker? Well not everyone has a squonk mod and might not wanna drop 60 or 70 quid on one if they prefer a regulated device especially if they only like the dripper style of vaping occasionally. You can get an RDTA much cheaper than buying a mod and it gives you that dripper experience without having to keep dripping to keep the wick wet. Your average single battery squonker is size wise on par with a normal dual battery regulated mod, the bottle inside the device takes up as much space as another battery would so there's battery life to take into account. Most of all options are always a good thing i think. Just to add a further option why not get an RDTA that also has a BF pin like the Cthulhi Gaia or the Bombertech Pindad as examples so you can fill the tank slap it on your squonker and refill the tank when it runs dry from the squonk bottle.

Have you tried a Gaia dr00g? I like Cthulhu stuff. Wondered what it's like.

Exactly my thinking as I just got my first squonk box a few weeks ago and drippers are great but with the Gaia there's no over dripping and the cotton is always wet and you can see the level of juice for when you need to top up. I love the idea of a BF RDTA and am really happy with the Gaia with good flavor and airflow options and easy to wick like a Genesis tank. Can get a bit warm sometimes and juice can collect in the ridge of the top airflow but is a minor gripe and I would happily buy another

Real pictures of Wasp Nano RDTA have finally arrived at FT, but nothing yet shipped. Some lucky guy in thailiand has got his hands on one and done a review (best with sound off unless you speak Thai).
To note - glass tank supplied as spare, odd filling mechanism. Airflow cannot be comletely closed, though it looks as though it can be cut down almost completely. Wicking and filling starts around 13 mins in.
