I am trying to take the photos from my fuji finepix s6500fd and put them on my android tablet and I am at a complete loss. Have any of you technical cognoscenti got any ideas.
I have bought the relevant connecting cable ie micro usb to mini usb but no matter what I try on photos, gallery etc nothing.
Any ideas, advice would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.
Ps, keep it fairly simple please!! not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to technology!

I'm not familiar with tablets... but on a PC/laptop with the camera on and connected you can usually find it if you go and see what's connected using file explorer, rather than going to photo/gallery etc.
Whether that is relevant for a tablet, I don't know.... if not, I'm sure someone else will respond.

Oh... I see...
You're going to need a computer really.
It's because of "Master and Slave" protocols on USB devices.
Both are Slaves (Tablet and Camera) so unless you download (read; pay) for some software that in all likelihood will not work, your photos will have to go via a 'puter.
I know this, not because I into all things techy, but because I tried it once.

As djs says the easiest way would be to transfer them from camera to PC either by cable or if possible take the momory card out the camera and plug it into an appropriate card reader slot on the PC ... then plug tablet in and transfer them over to that. It is possible to plug both camera and tablet into a computer at the same time and drag and drop from one to the other but it usually works out slower.

Do you have an OTG USB cable/dongle? They are cheap and should (if your camera supports it) work as expected.

The xD format has been discontinued. Fuji/Olympus used the XD memory format, a modern reader may not have a slot for XD. Cheers I
