When I install a duel coil and the total resistance comes out at 0.27ohms and I set my mod to 42w, will each coil heat up and receive 42w each or as the coils are in parallel only receive 21w each and if the latter is the case would using only one of the coils at 21w, produces the same type of vape but with less volume but same heat.

Assuming that both coils are the same resistance, then the current (amps) will be split evenly between them, i.e. equivalent to 21W each coil. If only using one coil at 21W it should produce approximately half the vapour compared with your parallel setup at 42W and, I think, at a similar heat.

I wouldnt have thought so but steam engine says yes. simplified the numbers but its near enough as an example. Obviously different wires/builds will give different numbers but the out come would be the same.

I've got the OBS Engine and my friend loved the vape but doesn't like duel coil setting up or too much vapour, so went and brought the nano version and installed one of the coils I was using. But we both agree that the nano lacks the flavour of the original Engine duel coil no matter what wattage is used between 20w to 50w Same coil, same ejuice, same mod and same size tank.....Ummm

would presume from previous experience even the slightest variations in the chamber size/deck set up can alter the flavour of an RTA. You could try a single in the original engine with some tightly packed balls of cotton sealing the wick holes in the deck & see if the flavour is the same then.

phtumshk his not that much of a friend! but I think you're right as the internals of the nano are by design different from the original OBS Engine.

Think of Watts as "heating power" (actually accurate technically), 2 coils spread the heat a bit more than 1, as do big coils (diameter or # wraps). But the point is Watts are heating power and should be broadly the same across set ups, as long as the set up is not too over or under the sweet spot for that level.

VapingBad Think I have got it, an electric bar fire would seem to give off more heat into the room with 2 bars glowing at low rather than one bar at high. So duel coils having more surface area to heat can produce more vapour and therefore flavour for a set period of time/puff and that's why the differences between the single coil Nano and duel coil standard Engines.

Yep, that's it, it is hard/tricky to compare builds, a big single coil would spread the heat more than dual skinnies...

Thank you VapingBad, It's getting a bit of a habit, I post a question and after a few posts you come in with the solution. Think I may save some time in the future and just PM you, then post the question and your answer for all to see. Lol.
