Hi all Having thus far resisted the urge to check out squonking, I met a mate of mine out walking yesterday who was chucking out clouds like a Puffing Billy as I caught up with him. I didn't even know that he squonked, and was curious to find out what he was using, and it was one of these. Now, between you and me, this mate is a bit 'careless' with his vaping, having had vented batteries, dry hits all over the place, and even mixing juice with way too much nic in it and needed my help taking it down to more reasonable levels without losing flavour (involved loads more concentrate and some of my dilutants!), so I took his raving over this squonk mod with a hunk of rock salt. However, before I hit the 'Pay Now' button on one of these just to see what all the fuss is about, I would value your critical opinions on these mods. Bear in mind I don't want to commit much more dosh than this to a mod which might not get a lot of use so please, no recommendations for £60 mods which would work much better. Thanks in advance

Thanks dalealan, that's the thread I was searching for and couldn't find! I was sure this would have been discussed somewhere!

Thanks dalealan , that's the thread I was searching for and couldn't find! I was sure this would have been discussed somewhere! My fingers been hovering over the buy button for weeks just to try squonking but I might try the pico squeeze first as I like the safety features and don't want to have to faff on with contacts and 510s. Decisions decisions.

Same here dalealan, I'm in a similar dilemma! I have mods that work well, plenty of tanks, litres of juice mixed up and ready to vape, spare coils, wire, wick, tools, I really don't need one, and am a bit concerned that this will rekindle my shinyitis I'll hang on and see what others think before I buy anything!

Looks like a battery box with a hole in it. It is at least cheap and not too ugly. FWIW I think you'd be better off with a squeeze. I'm safe from squonking shinyitis until a reasonably priced, quality regulated squonker shows up in the market.

If you want to try mechanical squonking faff free go for a squeeze.

See if you will put up with unregulated first by switching your current mod to bypass and using a fully charged battery set to 4.2v and then see how quickly it can't supply that and shows 4.1v - 3.8v - 3.6v - 3.3v---- game over.
Feel the wattage go down as you vape, mine started at 42w, which is were I liked this coil at, then went to 26w very quickly, no thanks. So for me regulated and protected squonk box maybe HCigar VT inBox (Fasttec £50). If I had to choose one of the unregulated voltage boxes, Pico Squeeze (Fasttec £15) would beat a plastic, badly made internals Boxer or similar every time.

For the price you can get a squeeze for they are well worth it for a first time squonker. I'm really happy I got one to see what it was all about and it still suits me just fine a few months later. Plus, if you don't like it I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take long to sell it on in the classifieds.
Of course it's not going to be any good for a massive dual fused alien tank track type build but for a single 18650 mod it does it's job pretty well.

Depends on how you like your vape imo. If you want over 40w on a clapton I would go for a dual battery mod that will last more than an hour.Couple that with a gorge RDA with a single ss fused clapton and bam, your in business. That's if you like a DTL vape. I tried a squeeze and a little topper but it didn't hit the spot for me. I don't look for mahoosive cloudage but I like a lung full 😆👍

I picked up one of these little boxer squonkers and I have to say that it's actually pretty good, As stated above the 510 unit isn't the best and you have to take a spanner to it to get it all properly tight and secure because mine came pretty loose but once you have it all tight it will perform pretty well indeed. Just make sure you build your coil within the limits of your battery. I ran a dual coil clapton on a pulse24 which ohmed in at 0.2 and I found it a cracking vape. The vape was still pretty not too bad when the voltage dropped to 3.6v but i felt that was the lower limit for me. However, I nailed one of these www.seizevape.co/products/zipper-black-edition and I have to say that the contacts and 510 unit are superb and I have to up my build to .23 ohms to get the same vape which seems to give an improved battery life. These mech squonkers are great fun and extremely pocket friendly but i found that I soon tire of the battery fade as it runs down, I always prefer regulated vaping and for me the drone is my favourite squonker closely followed by the VT Inbox.

Loving my boxer, but I think the squeeze edges it just for the protection and usb charging. It's a great introduction to squonking. I think once you have the squonking bug you will dream of a drone or VT inbox, which is where I am at the moment

Thanks decoy, some useful info there to ponder on. I'll wait until I'm a bit more flush, and then might be tempted to get me a Boxer, some replacement bottles, and a new dripper with BF pin.
