Hi guys, Sunday evening....thought I would try something new.... I wanted to try the temperature control function on the Pico 75. Have put a SS316L coil at 0.5ohms in a Merlin. Popped the Pico on - set the watts to 25w - went in to change mode - clicked on TC SS......aaaaaaaaaaaand.....it keeps going back to watts mode 1) What am I doing wrong? 2) If I can get the b***er in to TC mode, what would be a good starting temperature? (Never used TC before....) Thanks as always

Touching or spaced coil? Is everything tightened down, making a good connection? I think if the ohms change/fluctuate too much TC falls back to wattage mode
I'm currently running a skyline on a Pico with a spaced Clapton coil measuring 0.81 ohms at 450f for a pretty decent vape. I just adjust the temp up or down to suit but 7sually end up around 400-450f

Hi pyr0 Touching coil. Constantly showing 0.5ohms - working perfectly well in wattage mode. I've managed to get it in to SS mode now but I can't get it to fire at any temperature as it keeps saying "temperature protection" now - this is from the lowest setting at 100c upwards....

Confirm that you are not firing the pico at 75W in TC mode. I use the same wattage I would for NON TC mode and temps between 420f and 450f. Cheers I Note:I found that the Artic fox firmware for the Pico made the TC experience much more enjoyable.

Don't you have to lock the resistance on the pico when you are using TC?

Hi ghostrider1971 I've never had much luck with touching coils and TC [Edit] I forgot to say I'm running the Arctic fox firmware on my Picos Tomo I don't bother locking resistance unless I have a bad atomiser (like a kf4)

this was me lol ok you can do spaced coils with a lot less prob but touching coils have a life of there own i know this is going to sound like im teaching you to suck eggs but this is how i do it fit the coils and glow them red to check they happy(removing hot spots on touching coils with strumming) renip the wires and check again for hotspots wick and vape i wasnt glowing and reniping the coils which seemed to be the prob the main bug bear of touching coils in tc is one good knock and they wont work in tc because you get hot spots again single coil tanks are easier to get working properly at 1st but ive never had much luck with the classic subtank

My suggestiom would be a spaced coil and aim for a resistance more around the 0.2 mark
