... The resin is this one.... Xencast P2 Fast Cast Polyurethane Casting Resin 2kg Packwww.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/resin-gel-silicone-adhesive/casting-resin/fast-cast-polyurethane-casting-resin.html No Vacuum chamber. Mix it and pour it gently and there is no air in it. I leave it for an hour before removing from the mould. .... Thank you sej016 . The reason I ask is the one time I played with resin casting, the poly resin I tried ended up with lots of bubbles thro the final cured mix. It was if the gas was released into the media during the cure process. A suggestion was that, maybe, that might explain why some use pressure or vacuum chambers when curing. Or perhaps, it was my inexperience doing something incorrectly that caused it. Either way, I certainly didn't get the excellent result you did. I'm certainly watching for updates on this one!

Well, I found out that making a mould from a piece with the holes already in is a problem. The piece keeps floating to the top of the mould. I'll have to see if I can fix the piece to the bottom so it does not float. I've cast probably another ten pieces which have ended up in the bin, just trying to get the battery hole, button recess and battery connector in exactly the right place. It's a small piece and a millimeter either way makes a difference.

Add some colours to make it look aged and this would be a bomb! Brilliant work buddy!

I guess it's possible, but to honest I am not sure how durable the finish is yet.
I have to work on that to see if it fixes properly or needs a varnish finish as well.
And also see what brings it off.
It's a surface colour, not mixed with the composite.
