I thought I would have a go with a new material and process. It was started by my wanting a skull pipe, but them not being generally available. So, start with a crystal skull that I bought on eBay. Make a silicone mould of that. Then use the mould to make to composite cast. Work on the cast I'll add more as things progress. I'm still learning about the working properties of the material.

What composite was used? Was it epoxy or polyurethane? Or maybe something completely different?
It looks amazing by the way...wish I could have one for 18650 battery 😂

I am currently playing with a bit of epoxy (got a box shape just need to sand it down to size and make door) to make a MOSFET lipo thingy. There is a good chance that once that's finished (of ever 😂) I will embark on getting a skull done End of the day... How hard can it be? 😂 Not bothered about the size as well... If I had my hands on one I am sure it will be for show more than for use outside

*Respect* sej016. I'm watching your progress with great interest. That casting looks like it went very, very well. Poly two part resin you say? Would you mind saying which one? Did you use any sort of pressure/vacuum chamber to cure it?

*Respect* sej016 . I'm watching your progress with great interest. That casting looks like it went very, very well. Poly two part resin you say? Would you mind saying which one? Did you use any sort of pressure/vacuum chamber to cure it? The resin is this one.... Xencast P2 Fast Cast Polyurethane Casting Resin 2kg Packwww.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/resin-gel-silicone-adhesive/casting-resin/fast-cast-polyurethane-casting-resin.html No Vacuum chamber. Mix it and pour it gently and there is no air in it. I leave it for an hour before removing from the mould. To make the silicone mould (where you might need a vacuum chamber) I use this... CS25 Condensation Cure Silicone Rubber 1kg Packwww.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/resin-gel-silicone-adhesive/rtv-silicone-rubber/condensation-cure-mould-making-silicone-rubber-rtv.html Again, I mix and pour it gently and what little air there may be seems to release quite easily. It has a 24 hour cure time. S.
