the search option

I have never succeeded in using this to find a thread I have read somewhere.
plain instructions please, I have searched the obvious site for newbies but nothing is mentioned about the search option.

It doesn't seem to recognise short words lazydog, I've tried it many times in the past while looking for something

Unfortunately it doesn't recognise short words I'm hoping that will change when Proboards launch V5.

Jerry, have you never seen the "search" tab in the menu just below the banner?

I'm sure that I have, Chrissie, I just never paid any attention to it. It's probably because I hate the search option on ECF. It never worked right for me, so now I avoid all search options.

You know, it's something that you glance over, without giving it any thought at all.

Thanks Macca, thats great problem solved. I can never remember where I read something I want to look back on, but can usually remember who posted it and the heading. ##

Chrissie could you untick all the boxes as well please, it is a pain having to untick all the ones you don't want searches on, much easier to just tick the one you want.

I can't change the default myself Phoenix, but as Macca has shown, just untick the check all box

Yes, thanks Macca. Still no joy though, it rejected my search ....not enough words the words I put in were ...'I have done it posted by QueenB, it broke down the words to single form instead of strung together ?

I am determined to crack this search feature, it could be invaluable to someone like me...forgetful and senile

It might be easier if you posted what you are trying to search for and I am sure someone will do a search and give you the link to the results..
