I've read all the guides, tried the calculator and I'm still not sure of what I need I've been vaping Hangsen Ancient, which have now been discontinued. Luckily my supplier now stocks Hangsen Acient Essence, so I can mix my own. The original Ancient mix was 70\30 and 6mg strength. My question is what do I need to enter in the ejuice calculator to work out what I need to make e.g. 20ml? And a good source of VG\PG would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

doctorjellybean , You'll need to know what nicbase you have (strength and whether in VG or PG base), and the percentage of flavour concentrate recommended to use, along with what you've already stated above. Also when you say 70/30, is that 70PG/30VG or 70VG/30PG? [ETA] From a search on Hangsen Ancient Essence percentage, a strength of 5-7% seems commonly recommended.

Sorry, it seems to have been 70%PG 30%VG.
The Hangsen Ancient Essence store page doesn't give any details, so I don't know what the details are.

If using PG 72mg/ml Nicbase, in ejuice me up calculator, then you'll end up with something like: [ETA] If you don't have any 72mg/ml nicbase (which, due to the Tobacco Products Directive, is no longer available to the public), the above can still be done with 18mg/ml PG nicshots:

.... And a good source of VG\PG would also be appreciated. Boots Value Health Glycerin B.P. (i.e. VG) - 200ml is now only 99 pence And one supplier of PG (they also sell VG) is lubrisolve.co.uk

Postmodern SmokingMany thanks! So, if I read your calculator right, I'd need 50 drops of Nicotine eJuice (would have to find that), 328 PG, 180 VG and 42 Essence to make 20ml of 6mg? I assume using a syringe is easier than drops?

That's correct (if you can get some nicotine base in 72mg/ml in PG)... if you don't have any though, it will be difficult to obtain now because of the TPD. I've edited my post above to also include how much nicotine is required if using nicotine from an 18mg/ml nicshot in PG. (Still available, through the likes of Darkstar*) Drops aren't very accurate as drop size varies with viscosity, temperature and dripper size... also a pain to count! I personally use syringes to measure, with blunt wide-bore (14gauge, I think) needle. * Darkstar also sell VG and PG, although I personally haven't used them before.

I've never mixed before, so this is very helpful. The Darkstar Nicotine Shots, I assume I would need the 100% PG one (going by your image)?

That's correct; I based the calculation input data, in my second image, using a 100% PG 18mg/ml nicshot.

All you have to do doctorjellybean is measure the ingredients into an empty bottle, to make your 20ml of 6mg/ml 70PG/30VG e-liquid, i.e. about 6.7ml of 18mg/ml PG nicshot, 5.9ml plain PG, 6ml plain VG and 1.4ml of Hangsen Ancient Essence: *** (Note tobacco flavours generally need a number of weeks to steep and mature after mixing to fully develop their flavours).

Many thanks!
I'm ordering all the bits today, hopefully my current stock will last till the mix has steeped and matured.

Just in case You're interested doctorjellybean , 'Ancient' I believe was Hangsen's take on Old Holborn; maybe worth trying BCL's 'Holborg' concentrate too?....

Postmodern SmokingI'll be doing my mixing tomorrow now that I have everything. I noticed that your calculator indicates 6.67 ml for Nic Shots and 5.93 for PG. As the syringes are marked in steps of 2 between each number, would it make much difference if I round those figures up? Let's say 6.6 for Nic Shots and 6 for PG? Two items which confuse me: as the target ratio is 70% PG and 30% VG, how come the calculator actually gives me more VG than PG? The other is in your calculator you have 7% for the Hangsen Ancient Essence. Looking at the bottle it states 0mg/ml. Should I enter 0% instead of 7%? Many thanks again.
