Halleluya don't know what I did! The rapid clicking can be hard to do, without missing a beat! But it sounds like you've managed to unlock it!

I think I'll stick with the Evod as I'm used to it. I've a few ( understatement! ) Evod tanks if you're interested lindsey . . . . . and could probably sort you out with a couple of Ego Twists ( VV batteries ) to go with, from the stock pile of equipment I possess. Thanks for the offer, can I take a raincheck? ☺

Glad you've got your new equipment going, the number of times I've struggled to get a battery or mod turned on - there's a definite knack with clicking!

Assuming you know it is required in the first place. Have a laugh at my expense: About four years ago a long term smoker was excitedly opening his very first bundle of goodies that was to be "the answer". Watched the supplier video how to fill up the atty and prime the coils *check*. Assembled parts *check* Pressed button, sucked and ** NOTHING **. Rinse, repeat with same result. Frantic phone call to the supplier "I can't make this silly thing work". Suppiier asks patiently: "Have you tried the 5 clicks?" "Wot?" ...... explanation.... Oh. *clicks* OH! There is much to learn in vaping. Ain't no silly questions either - we've all been there!

Been there done that Dave . . . . in addition to putting the world on red alert when a reasonably pricey device wouldn't work - only to discover I'd forgotten to put any batteries in.

On the subject of silly questions ...
What is priming exactly and have I done any damage by not doing it?
And I seem to remember someone saying that coils could be rewicked?

On the subject of silly questions ... What is priming exactly and have I done any damage by not doing it? And I seem to remember someone saying that coils could be rewicked? Priming? When you open a new coil from the packet and install it into your atty it is dry. Bone dry. Hitting the fire button without letting it get wet with juice will result in burning of your wick. That is a bad thing. You'll only do it once and you'll then know what a "dry hit" is. Once burned, that wick is shot and your coil/wick assembly will need to be replaced with a fresh one. Priming is the act of wetting your coil/wick with juice before using it. Some setups allow wetting the wick before you install the coil assembly into your gizmo whilst others need to be installed before dripping juice onto the coil/wick. Either way is "priming" and ensures your coil/wick is wet and ready for use. Some atties will "self prime" simply by installing the coil/wick dry, filling the tank with juice and let the juice naturally "seep through". Evods/Protanks will do that if you are not in too much of a hurry between filling and taking that first hit. This is perfectly fine. Rewicking? Yep many of us do that as a matter of course. Some of us own atties that require us to wind our own coils and install our own wicks into those coils. Others will rebuild/rewick "commercial" pre-made coils, although, in some cases, those commercial coils are not really designed to be easy for the average user to rebuild/rewick. As one who has suffered through rebuilding of EVOD/Protank coils, I'd say it can be done (and with good result too), but, honestly, I'd prefer to not to need to do those mongrel things ever again. If rebuilding/rewicking appeals to you, then there sure are plenty about this place who'll be happy to advise what is required to go about that task

On the subject of silly questions ... What is priming exactly and have I done any damage by not doing it? And I seem to remember someone saying that coils could be rewicked? Priming is adding a few drops of eliquid to a wick lindsey . . . . or letting them sit for a short while once you've filled up a tank for the coil/wicking material to absorb some. If you don't and start vaping immediately, then there's the risk of ' cooking ' them, which can lead to a burnt and rather unpleasant tasting vape. That in turn can shorten the life span of a coil, or if it's really bad, you may never get rid of that taste. I let any new coils sit for at least 30mins before vaping and I always start low and work up the voltage/wattage while they're ' running in ' if it's a variable power device of some sort. Those Evod heads can indeed be re-wicked, which isn't difficult to do, but you might find our prr would be prepared to do some for you. * Crossed posts with Dave! *
