Yes i had to move the adjustment screw in a hellava way to get contact with mine, i'm using an iJoy 26650 cell.
And yeah it's a beauty ring but pretty useless if the airflow on your atty is at the bottom as it covers the airflow slots.

I'd twiddled away at that screw, even took it out - without knowing what it did, no surprise there! 

After some googling I did get the beauty ring thing sussed, then decided it wasn't going to be much use as Get Off My Cloud has said . . . . but it's nice to know what it is all the same!
