A first venture into TC - some advice please!

Got a busy day today, but at the next opportunity, I'll knock up a spaced SS coil or two and give it a try. Stand by for some noob questions on how to get my mod set up! Oh, and thanks for all the replies so far, a good mix of reactions and advice.

I love TC. Great flavour, replacing my fragile glass/plastic with the supplied steel tanks and I know when it needs refilling is a bonus. I only use SS316 Clapton 26ga+32ga @ around 0.45ohms. 45W @ 450 F.


I am also enjoying my Erlkonigin at 0.9ohms @ 20w on kanthal. So take what I say with a grain of salt

Go for the physical size of coil you normally like, maybe add one wrap, check on a coil calculated site the res is above the min for your mod.  That should be a good starting place, don't worry if you need to turn the temp above or below what you expect, consistency is far more important than accuracy.

from my point of view tc is a double edged sword
tbh if your using it with a tank then your wasting your time unless like me you go out drinking and aren't always aware of how much juice is in the tank, then it can be a god send
in a dripper its a totally diff job WHEN it works because no dry hits just less vapour and it can be awesome but thats when it works

ive played with tc for a long time as my 1st sooo called tc mod was the heatvape intruder or as it was nicknamed the transformers dildo, it was fugly and not good at tc more temp limmiting
i also did the sigelei 75 watt thing that was poo at tc followed by the rx200 and idd more or less given up on it
i got a hotcig rx75 with the dna chip and the tc just seemed to work in ss it was awesome wee mod till i lost it and a ks tank on a night on the razz opps lol
i sulked and waited and got a vt inbox and its just what i thought it would be once you find the right single coil dripper for it
the aspire speeder mod has surprisingly good tc on it and that hopefully shows how much the chips have come on since the days of old and the gap between evolve dna chips and the china ones isnt as huge

after a lot of ect the best way to start is prob with ss (can sill be used in vw mode if tc has a strop lol) and space the coil and DONT dry burn it just wick and go
you can do touching coils but you need to do a gentle dry burn and remove the hotspots but if using thinner wire a light knock could change the way the coil sits and tc WILL have a strop lol
owwwww and mesh drippers are good in tc if you can wick the little suckkers right
