Hello AAEC... my last post was 2 years or more ago I've been off the dreaded weed for nearly 5 years now... In fact I can hardly remember what a cig tastes like... my memory relates horrible taste and acrid smells. I have been using kayfun clones and istick pico's for the past couple of years, but I have a yearning to update my gear, luckily I am happy to stick with tried and tested kit rather than the latest fad. OK so here's what I would like advice on. Recommendations for an RTA which is reasonably inexpensive but reliable and needing minimum of maintenance. Preferably something that has been around for a while and has matured. It should have a decent liquid capacity and the coils should be either, easily self built, or very cheaply acquired. I also prefer MTL vaping. I am not into making massive clouds of vape or having the coolest looking gear... I'm also quite happy to continue using the istick pico's at present as well. Hope some peeps can help me out with some recommendations

i dont think you can beat the kayfun v3 for mtl as its easy to set up and just works peps are raving about something called a doggy tank i did like the erokine clones but dont know if they still made
if you want to change your mod look for something with a dna chip as the 75 watt ones are v cheap now and work v well in tc or not with ss wire

It would have to be a Berserker mini to fit on a pico

Doggy style on a pico is my carry about. Kayfun flavour, simple and never a leak. Tried plenty of others, but nothing has beaten it.

I have a couple of the Doggy styles (used but only briefly) and I think a couple of new Kayfun V3's if you are interested, still got a new in it's box Kayfun Lite as well Promethian Also don't think you can beat the Ego range of tanks, simple CLR coils, so easy to use, got some of them new in their boxes as well............

I'll add my vote for the Doggy styles - cheap, easy to build and tasty. Just be careful not to cross the threads when screwing the plastic tank to the metal base (though replacements can be had).

Thanks folks and peeps. I have gone and done a bit of research on suggestions, and without doubt the best option seems to be the doggy RTA. The non pedigree doggy SXK version is a bargain price, so I've done the fasttech deal. I've ordered enough tanks and spares to last me 2 or 3 years or more all for less than £50. Thanks

Enjoy. Hope you remembered to order wick and wire while you were there and a coiling rod...
FYI I use 30 AWG kanthal on a 2.5mm rod, that gives me around 1.8 ohms resistance - perfick for my MTL tastes.

I also had a good read through this forum. link Which I found to have the best info on Doggy TC and SS 316L I am now excitedly awaiting Vape Mail for the first time in over 2 years. When it all comes in and I'm up and running I'll post back here with results.

There's a lot of love for the doggy clones in that thread I have to say I like my SXK one a lot, even though it's bottom fill and I have to wedge something in the air slot to get it open. It's far easier to build than a KF3 mini and much easier to use than my KF monster mini (though not nearly as cheap). It's ust a very forgiving, easy to build and leak free tank with good flavour. If only there were an Ultem cap for it, it could be armageddon proof. Hope you enjoy yours.

I bought the super cheap doggy for under a fiver and it was an absolute peach. Its the only tank ive ever owned including some 50 quid + elitist BS second hand RTAs that dosent leak or dribble, ever. Have fun with your new gear.

Back again... Doggies arrived and I have built them and tried them out. here are the results.. Absolutely fantastic, so much better than the Kayfun V3 for MTL. No Leaks at all. Easy to build. Good Cloud but not a fog maker. Small and compact. Holds 3.5 mL of juice at a time. But the most important feature is the taste. I am using eleaf Pico's with the latest firmware. I have built them with a 2.5 mm spaced coil of 28 AWG 316L Stainless steel coil with 8 wraps. Set to M1 and TCR 0092 temperature control 10 W and 200 deg C. Temp control makes the taste constant and no overheating means no burning of the wick at all. What a total revelation! The taste blooms now and provides a constant smooth vape with full flavour. Also the vape consistency is the same from first filling to near to end of tank... so very much better than KF V3 in that respect. The only downside to the Doggies is the upside down filling method and the acrylic tank... but its such a minor drawback considering the advantages. Thanks for the heads up on these beauties. I can totally recommend these as they are a total bargain at £10 each and a brilliant vape system. This forum thread is a must read for getting the best from Doggy's. LINK

I am using eleaf Pico's with the latest firmware. Consider putting Arctic Fox firmware on. You can always revert. I found it much better. Also, spare tanks for the doggy are available, packs of five, on FT.
