OK update time.
Now using Arctic Fox firmware on my pico's for temperature control.
6 Wraps of 316L SS, 3mm dia gives approx 1.15 Ohms coil. Using preheat curve and 2 sec boost and 6 sec relax. 9 watts power.
On a new wick I start temp off at 170 deg C and work up to 200 deg + by end of wick life. (Note I vape custardy stuff which gunks wicks up pretty quickly)
I have 4 doggies on the go at once now, in sets of 2. So thats 2 I am using, and the other 2 awaiting rewick, (or have been rewicked awaiting use).
I rewick them after 3 days use, but this process is so simple on the Doggies, it only takes 20 mins to do both of them.
I find the vape mildy warm from the doggies( Just how I like it) and very consistent using temp control. Good vapour production without being excessive and taste is very very good. I too vape MTL and have the airflow fully open.
Very happy with these canine's

I am using eleaf Pico's with the latest firmware. Consider putting Arctic Fox firmware on. You can always revert. I found it much better. Also, spare tanks for the doggy are available, packs of five, on FT. I have seen that mentioned elsewhere as well... will give it a go, I already ordered 5 spare tanks

Back again... Doggies arrived and I have built them and tried them out. here are the results.. Absolutely fantastic, so much better than the Kayfun V3 for MTL. No Leaks at all. Easy to build. Good Cloud but not a fog maker. Small and compact. Holds 3.5 mL of juice at a time. But the most important feature is the taste. I am using eleaf Pico's with the latest firmware. I have built them with a 2.5 mm spaced coil of 28 AWG 316L Stainless steel coil with 8 wraps. Set to M1 and TCR 0092 temperature control 10 W and 200 deg C. Temp control makes the taste constant and no overheating means no burning of the wick at all. What a total revelation! The taste blooms now and provides a constant smooth vape with full flavour. Also the vape consistency is the same from first filling to near to end of tank... so very much better than KF V3 in that respect. The only downside to the Doggies is the upside down filling method and the acrylic tank... but its such a minor drawback considering the advantages. Thanks for the heads up on these beauties. I can totally recommend these as they are a total bargain at £10 each and a brilliant vape system. This forum thread is a must read for getting the best from Doggy's. LINK

Enjoy. Hope you remembered to order wick and wire while you were there and a coiling rod... FYI I use 30 AWG kanthal on a 2.5mm rod, that gives me around 1.8 ohms resistance - perfick for my MTL tastes. Yes I did, some 28 and 30 AWG 316L, coiling rod and some new shiny ceramic tweezers. I also had a good read through this forum. link Which I found to have the best info on Doggy TC and SS 316L I am now excitedly awaiting Vape Mail for the first time in over 2 years. When it all comes in and I'm up and running I'll post back here with results.

Thanks folks and peeps. I have gone and done a bit of research on suggestions, and without doubt the best option seems to be the doggy RTA. The non pedigree doggy SXK version is a bargain price, so I've done the fasttech deal. I've ordered enough tanks and spares to last me 2 or 3 years or more all for less than £50. Thanks

Hello AAEC... my last post was 2 years or more ago I've been off the dreaded weed for nearly 5 years now... In fact I can hardly remember what a cig tastes like... my memory relates horrible taste and acrid smells. I have been using kayfun clones and istick pico's for the past couple of years, but I have a yearning to update my gear, luckily I am happy to stick with tried and tested kit rather than the latest fad. OK so here's what I would like advice on. Recommendations for an RTA which is reasonably inexpensive but reliable and needing minimum of maintenance. Preferably something that has been around for a while and has matured. It should have a decent liquid capacity and the coils should be either, easily self built, or very cheaply acquired. I also prefer MTL vaping. I am not into making massive clouds of vape or having the coolest looking gear... I'm also quite happy to continue using the istick pico's at present as well. Hope some peeps can help me out with some recommendations

I recently needed to renew mine and the wife's atomisers and mods after 2 + years of hard use. I ordered 6 of these Kayfun V3's www.fasttech.com/products/3028/10006473/1559100-kayfun-v3-1-es-styled-rebuildable-atomizer-4-5mlAt £5 each (when I ordered them), they are an absolute bargain and every one is really well manufactured with really good threads. They look really slick sitting atop a silver eleaf pico as they are the same shade. 4 pico's 6 Kayfun V3's generics 8 Batteries cost £100 (inc delivery) and will last me and the missus at least the next 2 or 3 years no problems. Simples

Hi peeps thanks for the recommendations. I now have 4 eleaf istick pico's for me and the missus to share. Silver for me... pink for her. She loves them as they are small and dainty. I dont mind them but wish the button was a little more ergonomically friendly but hey ho... they will do the job and I can always fall back on my mukeys if I need a change. www.gearbest.com/temperature-control-mods/pp_341581.htmlAs for atty's I went for the Kayfun 3.1 clones from fasttech at £5 each (What a bargain... I can remember when people were fighting to get hold of these for £40). So I ordered 6 to make the package worthwhile. www.fasttech.com/p/1559100I have hardly been on this forum for 2 years or more and if everything is ok with this kit, It may be another 2 years or more before I need to come back again to investigate some more. The whole sub ohm vaping, creating a fog and MTL DTL vaping crazes seem a bit fad to me. In fact the fad nature of vaping has made my 6 Kayfuns really cheap, so I mustn't complain ..lol Laterzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi, I'm a long time vaper but not up on the latest trends. I have been using twin barreled VAMO's mukey style as mods and Kayfun clone types as Attys. I make my own coils, generally about 1.8 ohm coils, and make my own juice. I am going to order some new kit and have just started to look around to see whats available. I really like the Istick pico as it has replaceable 18650 batteries and I already have all the charging gear for these. As for a tank, I'm open to suggestions, but the criteria has to be of the following. No Leaking No Gurgling Reliable at least 5 ml capacity. Easily maintainable. Cheap as possible (lol) I dont mind changing coil types or going sub ohm, just as long as I can make them myself. Edit... Oh a nice puff 'cloud' but I'm not one of these smog makers Any suggestions welcome... thanks

I can second torchy. The blue batteries are brilliant, as good if not better than panny's. And of course a lot cheaper!!

CCW and Klassicool are intense flavors Not the ones I've used from CCW aren't Prom, other than Cream . . . generally I use them as a sraight dilution with my nicotine base. In fairness, other than Rhubarb I haven't tried any of their fruits though. Oh maybe I'm wrong then... I've only used aniseed from CCW and found it was really really strong. (but thinking about it... it is a very strong flavor !)I thought they were like Klassicool and intense flavors and you didnt have to use as high a %. I'll bow to your greater wisdom Perps

I voted for the flavor art, but in my experience vape wizard is only a temporary fix for a mix that isn't yet perfected. I find vape wizard to be something of a flavor muffler/duller/attenuator... ish. hard to exactly put my finger on the exact description if you know what I mean. I would only use it to make something unpleasantly vapable... a little vapable. (I find you get much the same effect by adding more lots more VG) If you need it you've got the mix wrong and need to go back to remix the concentrate percentages, either that or you've got a rank mix and need to go back to the drawing board. I do find using the flavor pairing charts make for greater success nouveauraw.com/raw-techniques/flavor-prfiles-that-pair-well-in-recipes/
