Where did they make you throw away the batteries. In London or China?
I just recently flew from Edinburgh down to London (Stanstead) and had no problems with the batteries in my mods or in their battery case.
I know China are pretty strict on shipping batteries, so if it was in China they were held then i am not surprised tbh.

Flew from Glasgow yesterday. Got stopped at security. The young lady security officer was clearly unsure as regards vaping equipment. She then called another security officer, 6ft tall built like a brick shithouse, I got the feeling things were not going to end well. Nothing could have been further from the truth. He was obviously a vaper himself. He checked all the mods, which contained no batteries. He asked where the batteries were and I removed all batteries, which were in cases from my hand luggage. He quickly checked the cases, satisfied all was in order, he thanked me for my time and allowed Mrs Striker and myself to proceed. The whole thing took no more than three minutes and no drama attached. I must add, his manner and attitude is something that others in that line of work could learn from.
