RCP calls for radical change in NHS approach to smoking cess

The RCP states that smoking cessation should be delivered in smoke-free settings and that it is unethical to do otherwise. It adds that current guidance regarding smoke-free policies is not being implemented and that legislation requiring hospitals to implement completely smoke-free grounds is needed.

It also proposes that e-cigarettes should be allowed on NHS sites to support smokers in remaining smoke-free and to help sustain smoke-free policies.

You know.... for someone who has been in and around hospitals a lot for the last 10 months, I would welcome being able to vape fairly near to an exit to save me walking to the perimeter fence and breathe in traffic fumes from roads, factories and whatever else.
I also suspected it wouldn't take long to be reprimanded standing outside the smoking shelter instead of inside it where some trusts seem to suggest vapers should toddle off to.
