Evening each, Just interested - do any/many of you use silicon sleeves for your mods? If so, do you use them mainly for mod protection or to "jazz" it up? Have ordered some from FT for my trio of Pico Mega mods.....not sure why....just wanted to try them....or just buy something

I've bought them in the past for mods which are known to have paint finishes that scratch easy.

All my mods wear silicon coats, I don't like scratches or marks on them and I really really don't like cold metal in my hands, also makes matchy matchy OCD easier to deal with

Never use them though I don't have any high end mods that I would worry about scratching.

I've tried them on a cloupor mini and a sigeli mini book. In both instances I found that they sort of trap muck and dead skin from your hands between the mod and the skin, leading to (almost) OCD cleaning of the mod and sleeve interior is required 😂

Use them on every Sigelli 100w+ I own (a few) and the ipv3li too. The Sig does get a little slippy without a sleeve, but I need to clean the condensation inside the sleeve whenever I change batteries, but I have to take it off to change batteries anyway so no major trauma. I use both sleeved Mods for everyday working outside, and I'm a clumsy bugger to boot, so I feel the sleeve adds a little weather and abrasion protection. I have only killed 1 Sigelli in 2+ years, and that one still turns on, just a scrambled screen.

I do if they're available, for all those three reasons.
And I guess I'm a bit precious even over inexpensive mods if they're not being used for work . . . . .

... do any/many of you use silicon sleeves for your mods? Yep. On most of 'em. ... do you use them mainly for mod protection or to "jazz" it up? Neither. Mainly I use 'em to avoid the smooth slippery surface often made worse by my sweaty hands (*). It's only some mods that work OK for me without sleeves, mainly brushed stainless steel. There are some I cannot get sleeves for... * Perhaps less of an issue in cooler climates

Nope DaveJ, sweaty hands and slippery Mods also occur in the Northern Hemisphere. Drink may also be involved in slippage of Mods in the UK. Is this a problem for you guys too?

Nah. We drink. We get drunk. We drop things (*). We pass out. No problem - so long as no one interferes with supply ... *grin*
* That's what backups are for.

I tried using them a couple of times but hated them. Made the mod feel crap and I noticed any leaked juice found it's way inside them. Just something to keep an eye on 👍

Fill with a bunch of dish soap and hot water. Slosh 'em around for a bit, rinse and then leave to dry. Good as new, ready to refit to the mods.

Never used them - perhaps due to many rubber-gloved years working in a lab. Three of my four 'proper' mods are Eleaf which seem to have near indestructible paint jobs anyway. The other is a Joytech Evic which is a lovely shade of red, but already chipped to buggery . Despite that, I can't see the point in covering over a nice colour with a silicon skin.
