I’m not quite sure if both of my Pico’s are dying at the same time (bought at the same time almost 2 years ago) or if maybe I’ve gotten a bad batch of atomisers?? The Pico’s are all I use (don’t do MTL) and last week I changed the atomiser (Nautilus X 1.8) in Pico #1 which was fine for a day or so then it started being quite noisy (crackling, some gurgling and loud air pulling sound). It’s usable, but I’ve had to up the watts to 12.9 when they are always run at 12.7 normally and it still doesn’t feel ‘right’. Bet this sounds silly to those who MTL with my puddly 12.7 etc... This morning I changed the atomiser in Pico #2 and I can barely draw on it at all! My cheeks nearly touch inside , it then makes a “pop” sound and I’ve next to no vapour. The air holes on both Nautilus X tanks (I use a 4ml tank with the extender bit) are fully open - where I’ve always used them - it is only slightly better if I close them two thirds. I’ve changed batteries, I can’t remember how many times but still the same issues. I’ve been getting the Nautilus X atomisers via a seller on Amazon for quite a while and never had an issue... I just don’t get it. I know nothing lasts forever and suppose it would make sense them dying at the same time but I thought I’d ask here what you thought. For now I’ve got the one that’s more or less working and the OH has had it with all of the noise and bought another (lol) for me today but that won’t be here for a few days. I’ve dug out the Pico book to have a look at ‘settings’. I know at one time, in the beginning, both were set to the same V/ohm?/W settings but have noticed they are slightly different now, not by much and I doubt enough to keep Pico #2 from drawing at all. I’ve used them so long and they’ve worked so well that I’m not sure what the original settings were that I used Thanks in advance, I’m off to look through the book! *me head hurts*

Ok...the mod (pico) doesnt have anything to do with this if ive understood your issues correctly.
The draw is to do with the airflow setting on you tank. Sounds to me like you may have turn the airflow ring to its tightest setting.

As above sounds more like a tank / airflow problem rather than the pico.

Hi shazza , I think you mean DTL rather than MTL, as DTL is usually high watts. I agree with thebishman * that it sounds like your issue is not with the Pico but atomiser, or it's setup. [ETA] * And B Road Blaster

I did say that the airflow on the tank is fully open... I’ve changed nothing as far how I use either of the Pico’s - my MO, if you like, is airflow on NautilusX tank fully open and the Pico set to 12.7-12.8W which is how they are now, but they’re definitely not acting as per. I’ve just tried the Pico #2 again and the same, cheeks nearly touching inside *getting dizzy now, lol* and next to no vapour. So a bad batch of atomisers then? Both of these new atomisers that I’ve put in in the last few days have come out of the same box of 5, newly opened.

Most likely a coil fault then or contact issue, which is inside your atomiser. You could try taking it all apart and cleaning it and putting back together. But yes def make contact with supplier and see if you got a duff batch...

Thanks . I opened a new box of NautilusX atomisers last night (but it was part of the same order) and refilled the tank, then left it to sit overnight. Just now tried it and it is behaving exactly the same as the one I took out, air open/cheeks touching, lol/no vapour I will email the seller and think I’ll sort out a different supplier today. And recommendations for *reputable* online shops that might stock the NautilusX 1.8 atty’s would be greatly appreciated.

Just to say that I’ve ordered direct from Aspire UK - overnight. Needs must and all. Think I’ll go lie down in a darkened room now...

Hi shazza - as others have said it is not going to be a problem with the mod. You should be able to draw air through the tank (with the airflow open) whether the tank is on the mod or not, and even if it is empty. If you cannot draw air through it with the airflow open without turning blue there must be a blockage somewhere in the airflow path. There must be two holes in the coil - air in and air out - can you blow air through a coil ? Likewise the tank must have two air holes - one is the drip tip and the other is the airflow ring - can you blow air through both of these with the top cap unscrewed. Stupid question but did you clean the top cap out with some paper towel when replacing the coil ? might have got some stuck in there somewhere. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I didn’t explain it well...what I meant with the cheeks touching is that I AM getting air through the tank but next to no vapour. Cheeks nearly touch, lol, and all I’m getting is a little puff of vapour. The air flows ok, but you can just feel that no vapour is forthcoming and sure enough this tiny little puff comes out. I am hopeful that this was a duff batch of attys I got (or possibly something other than 1.8ohm although it’s what they state) and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new ones today. Thanks to all for your help and advice

It seems like you got a bad batch of coil Have you scratched the security label just in case you have an authentic pack

It seems like you got a bad batch of coil Have you scratched the security label just in case you have an authentic pack Thanks for that, I have never done it before but I will with these two packs. Received the new attys today from Aspire and viola!, I am back in my happy place I usually leave new attys to sit for 12 hours or so but couldn't with these as I needed a proper nicotine fix and they're working perfectly. Thanks once again to all the lovely, knowledgable people here. Saved me from ditching the Picos that I get on so well with
