Hi all looking for a bit of advice/knowledge and this place has plenty people with that it was here I got advice about moving from cig alikes to variable voltage lol...seems like yonks ago!! So I’ve been using GS Ego Twist11 (2200mah) for years now with various clearos, currently Kanger T3S and started getting a bit frustrated as some of my mixes just don’t do it for me anymore. After some thought, seeing workmates with fancier looking gear I decided I need to move on a bit to something a bit more powerful perhaps. After much googling I’ve been drawn to SMOK V8 Kit / X8 Kit, mostly as the battery is 3000mAh with on the go charging facility (means instead of 2 I could probably manage with 1 and keep old ones as spares) but I’m a bit wary of the sub ohm thing as I’ve read nicotine levels need to be way lower and unsure of the direct to lung/mouth to lung options. Has anyone got either of these, or can anyone suggest something similar with the high capacity battery...any advice most welcomed.

Yes you will want to reduce nicotine strength if moving to sub ohm from mouth to lung because you will be absorbing more nic per puff, personally i started by cutting down nic strength to one third of what it was before. I later reduced it further but that's where i started. As for devices my personal preference is something with a replaceable battery, popping a battery case in your pocket with ready charged batteries less hassle than carrying a spare mod plus a spare battery is a maybe tenth of the cost of a spare mod, i also hate having to bin an entire mod just because the built in battery won't hold a charge any longer. Pretty much all mods also have a Micro USB charge port just like those with inbuilt batteries so you can charge on the go if you need to although it is advisable to use a wall charger if your mod uses more than one battery to ensure all the batteries are charged evenly, it's not going to be a problem if you need to top up a charge occasionally using the mod itself but if you can use a dedicated charger it's better. Single battery mods are no issue at all it's perfectly fine to charge the battery in the mod as often as you like. As for tanks i don't use clearomisers myself i prefer RTA's firstly because i can customise the vape to my preference and secondly it's less costly. Just a suggestion but when choosing a tank maybe pick one that comes with a rebuildable head as well as using premade coils and have a go at using the rebuildable they are way more user friendly to build these days than they used to be and pre-wound coils can be bought pretty much anywhere these days you don't even have to wind your own coils. If you get along with it you'll save yourself some dosh and if not you can still use the tank anyway just buy the prebuilt heads.

Thanks for all the info...even more confused now lol. Seriously though, I should probably steer clear of sub vaping just now as I have a stash of 20 mg juice to get through. Will do more research for a more compatible option.

I would agree with Get Off My Cloud and would also steer away from Smok as their coils don't have the best life and quite a few of their mods have been iffy with the paint, there are MTL tanks around but I will leave recommendations to others since I have not really been MTL much these days though some of the tanks around can mean fiddling to fit a coils and wick it would be worth it in the long run as those things are really cheap to buy and last longer than stock coils. linzmac13
