Dear friendly experts. Recently I've been making coils with 316L wire. However, despite my fair skill (?) at coils, I seem to have no luck with SS mode on my cheapish mods. I've tried TCR and have read mixed recommendations about the value. Basically, I'm resorting to VW until I solve the mystery.
One of my atomisers actually burst into flames as I was experimenting. That's surely not a good sign 🤣
Hugs, kisses and beers to you all. 👍

Try spacing the coil wraps it helps the mod regulate more consistently. Getting the settings right is important. Don’t know which mod you are using but there are several different SS wires (304,316,316L) each having a different TCR. The SS setting on your mod might not be the right one for your wire so getting the right TCR will help.

I gave up on cheap mods with SS after back to backing an eLeaf and Evolv the difference was massive, good connections are vital, but on a non Evolv mod I would use a more reactive wire. On DNAs SS TC is very easy IMO, but I got used to always maintaining clean & tight connections and choosing single strand or twisted wires, if you want TC with claptons you need a single metal with a beefy inner core or an Evolv mod that does Replay.
