So, I'm running a bit low on muji cotton pads and found a bag of cheapo cotton balls that I used to use a long while ago.
Tried them again just out of curiosity and surprisingly they aren't too bad. A bit of a weird taste for the first few puffs but all in all not unusable, and for the price they were a bargain.
Just wondered what everyone else is using these days ..... Is it still muji or cotton bacon or what ??

Just got down to my last strip of cotton gods...which is like cotton bacon really...all good nice and clean tasting. Found an old bag of rayon might give it go for a laugh.

Still using Muji pads, tried a few of the "vaping cotton" brands in the past couldn't discern any real advantage to them in terms of wicking properties and definite disadvantages in other areas. The pads are easier to portion out consistently from coil to coil you slice the same amount off with a pair of scissors instead of tearing clumps off a wad for example and price for another.

Found Rayon and never looked back. Cheers I Rayon is one of those things I've never tried. Think I read a few negatives (Scratchy throat, tickley cough etc) when it was first touted as a wicking material and it put me off, though now I think about it I'm sure there were the same negatives around cotton and silica too lol. I think this is the reason so many get on with the muji pads, though I think sometimes the strips seem a bit compressed and need tearing/fluffing up a bit along the length of them (if that makes sense) for good wicking.

IIRC, member inigomontoya sent me some to try in 2015 or so. No sock flavour and very scorch resistant. I Love the stuff. A meter from CDV is a quid plus shipping.

Yep price has certainly gone up a bit but still not a bad deal considering how long it lasts

Worth a punt then seeing delivery isn't too steep. Might have a look about the site and see if anything else takes my fancy as well
