Steeped - 30 days
Concentrate - 20% in a bottle shot
Otherwise max VG
Nic - 4 mg
Voopoo Omega 1 & Cleito v.1 with Cleito Pro 0.15ohm coil at 55w
Flavour profile - "Apple crumble and custard"
The short and sweet two word review? "Not impressed".
Ohhhh steeping. Don't you just love it (no...)? You get a new concentrate that looks great and mix it up and then you wait....and wait....and wait some more. Bearing in mind my usual steeping technique back in 2018 was more mix, shake the bottle and rock n roll, I really have improved. I waited 30 days for this one....
The lick test was very promising on this one. I got pastry and apple and a decent cinnamon kick. Didn't really get any creaminess or custard.
Unwrapped the new Cleito coil, filled up the tank, waited 20 minutes, hit the fire button and..........disappointment.....
I'm guessing "subtle" could be a polite term for "very weak". Pastry on the first part of the inhale, followed by apple and then a nudge of cinnamon at the end. I do not get any cream or custard at all. The pastry is slightly sweet and the apples seem to be of the stewed variety.
Bearing in mind this is a 20% concentrate, I was expecting a bit more punch and power. Maybe this would be one for those new fangled dripper things (at least you can change the cotton without wasting a new coil...). Maybe I need to start adding more PG to my mixes rather than doing max VG. Just dunno. 30 days wait and another huge disappointment.
Appreciating throwing this one back in the cupboard for a few more weeks/months/years probably won't do it any harm, I am disappointed. I wanted sweet and sharp apple, I wanted creamy custard and I wanted punchy cinnamon as well as a soft and sweet pastry (Yep, guess I can be over optimistic...)...what I ended up with is wishy-washy "meh".
Has anyone else tried any of these? I am a fan of stronger flavours so maybe for a "normal" palette these are OK? THe Baker's Dozen Lemon Drizzle has had good reviews elsewhere too but I'm out until I see some improvement from this one.
