Can you simply use any of the photos etc on Photobucket, copy/paste them into your own album and use the HTML code as your avatar, resizing them as necessary ?

Yes, more or less Amd. You can upload any image to photobucket, either from your PC or choosing upload from the web via "more" in photobucket. You then need to copy & paste the "direct link" for your avatar.

Chrissie, when you say yes, do you mean other photos that other people have uploaded ?
Couldn't see and permission usage etc

If they've not made their albums private Andy . . . then the pictures are open to use, that's how I understand it.

I've just always used images for gifs etc that I've found using google image search. So never snagged them direct from someone else's photobucket. However, if someone's photobucket is left open - ie not private & they haven't copyrighted/watermarked the image, then it should be OK to use them.

Also if they were on someones website they couldn't be copied and used in public.
I've seen listings on ebay where people have used manufacturers stock photos to sell their own private unwanted stuff and they've been reported and had their listings removed.
