Should I let my battery's discharge completely before recharging? For reference I'm using a lavatube and I think the batteries are the 18650's What's happened is my battery was down to 3.5 I stuck it in the charger and poof little bang from the charger and smoke Battery still works which is nice When I put the battery in the charger (not plugged in) green light shows on the charger. When power then applied light remains green Does this sound like a blowen charger? If your charger is blown, and you dont mind, I would love to take a look at it, I have the TR-001 and have just taken it apart. if it is like Macca said tha the Caps blow on them I might be able to repair it, Even beef it up.

It's not a simple case of replacing the blown capacitor with a like for like..There is a reason why that capacitor blew and that needs to be investigated and determined..
I would advise caution when playing around with Lithium Ion chargers..

I am fairly good with electronics, its my background and training for the last 24 years. Though I have specialized in Microprocessors and PLC's and have moved into bigger things now (radar systems) I am always looking for bits to keep me in practice with the smaller side of electronics

It's a pretty decent price Batty . . . especially as they also offer Recorded Delivery in that.

Agree, that is a good price. The cheapest I have found is $53 delivered from USA, but of course there is always the risk of VAT etc. charges on that.
