Well we have just collected the riva from the post office and we cant get it to work. We put the battery on charge and at first in turned the charger light red, 20 minutes later and it had gone green so my dad assumed this had meant it was ready but im not so sure as 20 min doesnt seem long enough for a days use and the fact it didnt work seems to suggest this unless we are doing something wrong.
so ive got the battery and this transparent cartrige thing that came with it which has a silver pipe in the middle of it with some white hairs coming out the topive carfully half filled it by tilting it like one would pour a pint and half filled it with some ry4 i popped the mouthpiece on and screed it onto the battery, clicked the button three times and the blue light came on tempoarily with a little bit of noise and nothing, no vape or anything.
are we doing it wright

It's a manual battery..You need to press and hold the button to vape..
Make sure the top mouthpiece is tightened down properly..Not too much force, but just screwed in all the way..

20 mins would probably be enough as the batteries usually come with some charge in them. I'm thinking you may have switched the battery off? If you click the button 3 times on the Riva it switches off, try clicking 3 times again to switch it back on again

Hi Chris, Your batteries probably came with a factory charge so only needed a top up. It sounds like you have a Vision Clearomiser, you did the right thing by tilting it when filling, you need to avoid getting the juice down the central pipe. The technique when using a E-cig is slightly different to regular smoking. When fully assembled, press the button about half a second before having a drag on the e-cig. When you drag, do so slowly holding the vapour in your mouth before inhaling. The battery has a 10 second cut out, you cannot "drag" on it for more than 10 seconds continuously, you need to release the button as you take the e-cig out of your mouth. Then you can repeat. Oh and you DID read the instructions, did'nt you?

The 3 click, turns the battery on and off so that if you carry it in a bag or pocket it can't go off. Just leave it on (no 3 clicks) when you're using it and turn it off only if you need to. Hopefully you have the second battery on charge while you're using the first one?

Yes, it is harmless. It dissipates much quicker than smoke and carries far less nicotine (which is not harmful any way) and no carcinogens!
Tell her it's more of a steam with flavour in it than a smoke.

Yep, most of the nicotine, which initself is no more harmfull than caffiene, will be absorbed. the other stuff in it is VG, vegetable glycerine - found in cough medicines and lots of toiletries, and PG, sorry always forget what that stands for but someone will be along soon to tell you. this is used in asthma inhalers etc. nothing for your mum to worry about, and it won't stain her walls, ceiling and curtains!

Well Ive just tried it myself and I think im gonna get one as well as although Ive got strong wheel power I do sometimes really get an urge for a fag and this will just curb it, the 2.4 my dad is using is a bit strong on the throat for me so I think I will have to use the 1.8 or even the 0.8. Got to say the ry4 in caramel tastes bloddy lovely. My brother is sold to. Its nice to see a smile on my dads face and he finally thinks hes found something that will work as compared to that gammuci he says it tokes everytime. thanks a million guys. If those free flavours are still on offer I would love to take you up on them

Brilliant to hear your dad is now getting on so well with his Riva As Des says, tell your mum she has nothing to worry about. For starters, there is no tar at all in e-cigs If your dad wants to try the cartomisers that came with the kit, have a look at this video to see the best way to fill them to begin with - After removing the white bung, fit the drip tip.
