The latest ones have a heat resistant sleeve that the coil sits in, designed to prevent the trailing wire from making contact with the attie wall. Thanks Blakey.. Is this tube needed for working or is it designed to keep the coil from scorching the silicone insulator? Totally unneeded macca, it just serves to house the coil in a non conductive area and prevent the trailing wires from touching the sides of the attie. It's an addition to the original design and if you had some spare sleeves you could easily add them to the old types. Infact I had one of these sleeves disintegrate when dismantling and I rewicked perfectly well without it.
