On monday I paid cash into my Natwest account at one of the indoor ATM machines, did some online banking yesterday and all was well with money showing on my balance. Today it's gone leaving me overdrawn I have just called them and been told I will have to make a journey to my branch with the receipt to prove the money was paid in. GUESS WHAT.... I HAVE LOST THE FLAMING ATM printout the lady on the phone says I will need this, surely there is another way of proving they have my money, I paid it in using my debit card.

Can you get a statement from your debit card bank ? it should show the transaction not sure if this will be enough but its worth a try Annie .

That's the problem it is no longer showing on my statement online but it was yesterday
She did say they are still having trouble with peoples account balances but that I would need the receipt to prove >

ok im sorry Annie but let me get this right the bank you paid into is defferent from the bank card you used to pay it in ?
so you paid into natwest from which bank ?

Ah pity it wasnt from another bank sorry Annie but give them hell its there fault and they should have some form of record, tell them to check the Atm camera and I would think the machine would have a record of whats paid in but im not sure it its only computer records with these machines or not

She said that but also that I may need to produce the receipt to get the moneyback, surely the computers will have a record. Not sure how many more times I want to sift through my dirty bin bags looking for the receipt

Everything I paid out yesterday is still showing just not deposits, couldn't be the other way ....... funny that #attachment#

Regardless, for the aggro caused, you should report them to the Ombudsman. Many people withdraw money without a receipt. I know I do.

It is a trust and that trust is being seriously compromised by their glitches.
