I know it is not the worst that can happen but I am feeling really S#1T at the moment. And for you smart allec's out there that soes not stand for salt. Things have really been against me the last two weeks.
First off, I am not getting to see my OH as I am unpredictable with my meds and dont want to put her through that. Then I go and catch a bug, a nasty little sod that made me sit on the loo for that long that I fell asleep with my head in the sink. The fence blew down last week and I have been saving up money to fix that. So there is money going out for that, though still not done it yet because last week the oven decided to throw its legs in the air and die on me, so fence or oven, the oven won. I though that would be the last of it, as they say it comes in threes. Oh no, Yesterday the electrics to the sockets in the living room went out. Fuse I thought, no that was fine. it appears that there is a draw on the system somewhere and the sockets are going to need re wiring. Now under the new laws I have to get an electrician in to do it, at god knows how much an hour to suck his breath in over his teeth and say it is going to cost me. I am just fed up with it. I might just do it myself, and say it was a continuation of the job I started 10 years ago, least that way I can save money and know that the job is done right.
Thats my moan over for today (or for now anyway) Who's turn is it next.

Sorry to hear you have been having such a tough time lately.
Life has a habit of throwing itself at you all at once rather than forming an orderly queue and letting you at least have a bit of breathing space between dealing with all the crap we have to get through to survive.
I hope things calm down for you soon and that this spate of bad luck means you have the rest of the year off from disasters and frustrations!

Hey batty things will turn around As for your sockets you could have a dodgy appliance thats tripping or blowing the fuse or could be more serious..nevertheless you can rewire them yourself and get someone in to test them and provide a cretificate.Im a 17th edition sparky and have done loads of testing but i dont have the 2391 inspection and testing papers..Gimme a shout if i can help you at all..chin up mate

I have a suspicion that there could be something on the circuit that is killing everything but have unplugged everything and still no power. What is a bit worrying is that there is a send but no return on that ring, and going by the sheith on the cable it is part of the original wiring cos it is the old rubber type Try to explain this to me though, ring circuit for dining room area, voltage across fuse points in fuse box, 240, voltage across fuse points on non working circuit 210. I am well confused at that as it would indicate that there is a presence of 30v on that line from somewhere, but will be damed if i know where from lol. once I have had more coffee there is more investigating to do. Thank you for the offer Gaz, I might just come back to you with some questions if i cant find what the hell is going on

Batty i got to go to work now...but to start woth...check all sockets and make sure nothing has come out or loose...if you have power going out and not back you have a cable down and could just be loose or has come out...if its damaged you could bell them out and find the faulty cable..gorra go bud..be back later tho
