Thanks for the video yak. I might give your method a try No I don't oneday. However, shouldn't the carto be lubricated when it's in a full tank? You could lubricate the o-rings a bit for smoother entrance.. That saves the o-rings on the long run (at least the first time you push the carto in) the following times it is already lubricated. E: when you refill it this way you lubricate the other o-ring at the same time you pour the liquid.. So no need (imo) for extra lubrication. The Arctic line I make, I've had 6tanks on a cycle (3refills/week) for what.. half a year+ and I'm still using the same o-rings. I designed the v1 so that it took a powerhouse to slide it open. And then I came up with that style of refilling. Now after few revisions (I think it's v2.2 now as the material changed, outer o-rings changed) it's a bit easier to push down cause I made the inner o-ring spacing a bit wider.. not too much, just enough.. But still that is the easy way of doing things.

are you punching the cartos yourself Hissie? if you are you may be deforming the carto slightly and therefore making it difficult to move past the lower cap if this is the case filling from the battery end will prove easier

Just a thought to go with everyone elses here, before moving the tank for filling turn the tank in a clockwise direction (when looking down onto the tank). It might be that during the use, the carto had become hot and made a good seal with the internao O ring. By turning the tank in a tightening morion it should be sufficient to break the lock of the 'O' seal on the carto and make it slide easier to fill from the top. I personally cant do the fill from the bottom as I use 5-6 ml tanks which have the flange on the cartos, so it aint going to go in backwards lol.

I will give that a try macca. It's the tightness of the tank around the carto that's the main issue. I just had to make this... 20sec (21sec vid) This method is ace for flangeless cartos. I've been filling my boge tank this way for a while now and with just a bit of practice it is easily the least messy way to do it. Also, if you have a tank plinth, you can loosen it off a bit and screw the tank against it to adjust the holes in the carto to the perfect level inside the tank. I'm going to take the liberty of reposting this in the Tips & Tricks forum (cos it took me ages to find ).
