Time to clean this clearomiser, I've delayed as much as possible but it's starting to get nasty, just wanted to know if it's necessary to pull out the white bit inside, as I've seen some say that they don't bother with that.
Just a note on clearomisers, they all leak, there's so many threads about them leaking, they don't necessarily leak a lot, the one I got with my Riva kit, at first I thought it was that I didn't have the drip tip part screwed in properly, but it turns out the more I screw it in the more drops appear, just below the mouthpiece, I've accepted it now as a minor nuisance, not a big deal, just wipe with a small bit of tissue now and then.
The 2nd clearomiser I bought doesn't leak near the mouthpiece at all no matter how lose or tight I screw it, but it leaks a little on the battery. Again it's not enough to cause any real problems, bit of tissue, sorted.
From all the threads across the net about this, I think it's just something that happens with clearomisers and it's to a lesser or greater extent on each one

it'll make it easier if you do pull the silicon seals out... the water can flow a bit easier then ....fill the clearo half way with hot water and place your finger over the open end and shake, seems to get them clean pretty quick

I think it went ok, as a single woman living alone, I couldn't find any tools to take the silicon thing out with, tried with nail scissors but it didn't work, so I just put the water in with a needle drop, have refilled it with a new liquid, not getting a whole lot of flavour, but I don't know if that's just how this liquid is....

Ellen if you've washed thoroughly the wicks will be wet with water rather than juice, so your first few hits off it will be muted

Again it's not enough to cause any real problems, bit of tissue, sorted. 3. From all the threads across the net about this, I think it's just something that happens with clearomisers and it's to a lesser or greater extent on each one Scuse me but I edited your post to make it easier to run through your points: 1. No they dont I still think it's because you may have screwed the top on too tight pushing the center part down meaning it does not seal properly internally. have a look and compare your Visions that you have, look near the bottom of the plastic tank and see how far the metal bit sticks up into the tank. If they stick up different amounts then this may be the problem. 2. Some juice will always run down the central pipe from the wicks and pool in the bottom, just wipe this away now and then. 3. see 1 & 2 above Hope this helps.

Hi Ellen. I've only had one leaky clearo out of about 20 between me and hubby. They've been very reliable.
I think if you overtighten the tip at first, it can, as Des says, push down the middle part too much and so you have no correct seal. Sometimes I get a little bit of juice at the tip end when I've just filled it, but a quick wipe and then no more leaks. The one I had that leaked did it down the middle to the battery all the time. I've set it aside for cannibalisation at some point.
I have had ones with tiny cracks which got worse over time, but I've had a good 2 months usage from most, with no problems.

I guess I've just had 2 out of 2 that were a bit dodgy, I just meant that there are a lot of threads about this, I'm not talking about massive leakage, just a drop or two that most people might not even notice. Its just a bit confusing for a newbie, I hear lots of things like "maybe it's screwed too tight" or "maybe it's screwed too loose" it's like the goldilocks rule.
I find them very convenient and will always have one for an all day vape, they don't taste as good as a carto for me, but I still like them.
Oneday, you were right about the water on the wicks, it is better now

A drop or two inside the battery threads is condensation and cannot be avoided..Needs wiping once in a while. I normally do it during refilling..
The leak from the mouthpiece is usually juice that is scraped off the mouth piece by the silicone seal that sits trapped just under the collar..This is normal too..The way to avoid it is to remove the mouthpiece slowly and scrape the juice off the mouthpiece on the seal whilst removing so that it goes into the clearo..Regardless, what looks like loads of juice is normally about 0.1 ml, if that.,
