Some e-liquids use PEG400 which is perfectly safe to use in foods.
It carries flavour better than both PG and VG however it can be contaminated during manufacturing process with DEG which is a poison and damages the liver and kidneys.
So DEG is NOT a component of e-liquid.
Where did you read this?

www.naturalnews.com/034619_e-cigarettes_nicotine_ingredients.htmlIn case you don't already know, the increasingly popular electronic cigarettes or "e-cigs" are battery-operated nicotine delivery devices made from a stainless steel tube, which often resembles a cigarette. When you puff on an e-cig, the computerized sensor feels the drop in pressure and activates both an internal heating element as well as the signature "red glow" LED at the tip. The heating element vaporizes a liquid solution in the cartridge, usually comprised of nicotine, flavor enhancers, and some form of the highly toxic ethylene glycol, which is found in anti-freeze. Many e-cigs also contain cancer-causing compounds like nitrosamines (http://www.primehealthchannel.com/electronic-cigarette-dangers-and-side-effects.html). PG in e-cigs is an approved food additive that is also used as a component in certain NON-toxic coolants used by the Food and Beverage industry. Nitrosamines naturally occur in the form of proteins under certain acidic conditions, such as when meats, fish, cheese or beer are consumed in the human stomach. However, there haven't been any claims that these foods cause cancer. That was a quick Google

My very simple view on this is we either, stop smoking, smoke or use harm reduction! There is nothing in that link that makes me think that vaping is not harm reduction. It's a very badly researched article in my opinion

LOL..Many of these sites carry misinformation without a thorough understanding of what e-liquids contain. PEG, which is polyethylene glycol is food safe and is used in manufacturing of medicines..(PEG 400) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEG_400DEG which is di-ethylene glycol is poisonous. Ethylene glycol is used in anti-freeze and most definitely not in e-liquids..If it did we'd all be seriously ill or dead by now. As for carcinogenic TSNA's they have found trace and I mean traces of it during vapour analysis..Far far lower than can be found in regular cigarettes.. Chris, look at the other articles, advertising and comments on that link you shared. You`ll be able to make your own mind up about the accuracy and bias of their 'stories'.

Sounds like they don't really know what they are talking about. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing...

Guys......don't get me wrong..........I couldn't give a monkeys what the powers to be say...............for me there is absolutely no comparison between e-cigs and analogues & I know which one I'd rather be using.......My experience of vaping is still limited & obviously I couldn't contest my friends statement, especiallly when it was apparently 'Quoted' from the internet.....I just wanted your take & knowledge on the subject, so that I could hit her with a reply...............& now I have it...................

Just take him or her down to your lab Chris.. A large hammer can usually persuade most people to see your point of view..
