On a teeny bit of a tangent. Something that Macca pointed out that I had not realized is that you have to be careful about the output from the charger. The SDK charger outputs at 5v where the eGo ones output at 4.2v so do not get them mixed up as it can be disastrous. I know what you mean Richdude. I had the thankless task of re soldering all the points on a set of 163 way amphenol connectors ~(military standard) which is a right pain in the backside when it turns out that the cable had been damaged and it was nothing to do with the connector ends,

lol yeah sounds like a right pain! I almost got roped into soldering up a 256 way patch box, which is 256 XLRs in and 256 XLRs out, 3 pins each so 1,536 little solder joints!! Luckily, I suck at soldering!!!

About the power, The USB charger that came with River's kit is 4.2v 450mA, the Riva is 5v 500mA, does this mean I can't use the Riva on River and visa versa?

I will have to bow down to Macca's knowledge on this now. I did think that it would be dangerous to try to charge a Li-ion battery to 5v as it would be over charging it and could damage it big time. What did you mean by "the Riva is 5v 500mA" is that another charger you have?

Maybe im mistaken then! Im sure the Riva one said 500mA it may of still been 4.2V as I think it was just 5v in! Ill have a look when I get home! I only asked cuz the River VV charger is in my case for out and about and the Riva one is my hme charger!

Yeah im pretty sure it was 5V in not out, im crap with electrics & memory!! Would different mA charger cause any harm? IF a charger is over 500ma output then it would be advised not to plug it into your computer. it is advisable not to plug any of them into a pc incase it goes and will take out your motherboard with it. then things can be expensive. IF a charger is rated at a lower ma then it will just take longer to charge up your battery, that is when it is like the ones in Macca's picture 420, 450 and 500. What you should not do is put a 150 etc onto something that takes a larger charge as you will most likely damage the charger as it will take a lot longer to charge and will be straining it. Am waiting now to be corrected lol

5v 500 mA is probably the input TO the charger..That's what a USB port puts out. The output will say 4.2 V whatever mA.
All this malarkey about a 3amp or 10 amp hub is rubbish. Each individual port on those will also only output 5 V & 500 mA same as a laptop and computer port. You need a dedicated beefed up ports like a iphone charger with a usb compatible port to have higher current supplies.
Edit: BTW, the 5volt supply line from a decent computer PSU is probably in the region of 25 Amps.
Edit 2: You can put a lower mAh charger of the correct voltage rating on a bigger battery safely. It will just take longer to charge so long as it is within 0.1 C. So 4.2 V 150 mAh output charger to charge a 650 or a 900 or a 1100 ego is fine but not the other way round ie., don't put a 500 mAh charger to charge a 150 mAh battery.

so im simple terms, as long as the mA of the charger is lower than the battery it will be ok ???

And the correct voltage rating..That is also equally important..
