My housemate sent away for a e-cig, but never used it....We were talking about it one day, as I wanted to try something to help me cut down on analogues. I took a puff of hers, was intrigued, so googled e-cigs which led me to this forum. The very same day, after joining & pestering everyone on here with questions, I ordered a Riva kit without really knowing what it was.......Less than 2 months in, I now have the Riva 1100 kit, 2 x 650 batteries, an LT, Vapouriz cig lookalike kit & various visions & tanks.......& 2 x Ego Twist batteries should be dropping through the letterbox any time now............How did all that happen??????.............

I was looking on MSE in January of this year and came across the e-cig thread there. It was mentioned that TW had a special offer on their kits, so had a look and bought a mini-Titan. There was also a link to this forum and joined up and got some great advice about kits and here I am to date, I have 2 Riva's, a Twist, a shiney etched Ego, LT and now a Provari........... not counting loads of bottles of e-juices and Yay!! congrats Gordy

I first tried vaping in 2009 after googling give up smoking aids and found an E-lites advert. I bought a really expensive E-lites exec set up but the battery life drove me nuts. I kept trying them occasionally but couldn't stick with it. A few months ago someone on a non e-cig forum posted about how well they were doing giving up smoking using an Ego-w kit, googled it, bought one, then found AAEC and got turned into a compulsive E-cg spender ......not looked back since

The first I heard about e-cigs was them being advertised on Ryanair flights which was enough to put me right off! A friend got a cigar-alike and told me about it. I didn't fancy one of them but thought I would find out more about it - google got me to MSE which got me to here, decided to give it a go, bought a Riva kit and haven't touched a cigar since It certainly hasn't saved me any money, but it has also become a fascinating hobby, I feel a lot better and I am part of a really friendly community with lots of great cyber friends

Just changed my banner, dream started me thinking about it, lol. Ignore the date, that's incorrect, but I had to put a date on it, it wouldn't not accept a date.

I smoked rollies dream and it varied how many I smoked and the cost, so I'm not really interested. What I wanted was "Using e cigs for" which Steve kindly did for me. I thought I could leave the date blank as there was a bit of a time lapse in the date of 2 - 3 years, lol, but it doesn't matter, I won't lose any sleep over it.

An American friend told me about them over a year ago. I was looking at trying to quit then as well because I knew smoking was near killing me and I'm nowhere near over the hill yet. I spent a good few weeks researching ecigs in general but there was only egos and 510's back then because the old 808's weren't up to much at all still and the teabag mod was about all there was for 510's.
I saw a lot of greensmoke and other overpriced 808's/rn4081 types with their silly "vape anywhere" ads on youtube but knew something was up with that. Costs too much, making too many claims with no facts behind them. I initially went to ECF because I honestly didn't know there was a UK vaping scene and for a few months I thought TW was the only UK vendor lol! I saw one of Chrissie's posts linking to the big suppliers list here and my jaw dropped. Then I wondered why Chrissie always knew who had the cheapest deals on everything, then saw they were the admin for this forum and had to join to get the lowdown on the vaping scene in the UK.
I got a 510 from TW and although it wasn't quite enough, I stopped smoking with it straight away because it was a choice for me to stop and to have anything that gave me hand to mouth motion and the feeling of inhaling something was enough to get me by.
It wasn't too long until I started getting in bigger batteries and lots of different ecigs and parts for them. I'm now settled on CE2's and the lavatube and the blinged out itaste for more formal occasions. I couldn't go back to smoking even if I wanted to which is always cool to know - I tried a cig about a year after quitting and yuck, definately not a smoker anymore.
There's been too many benifits to vaping to mention. It was a little shaky starting out and finding out what works for me but now that I have my gear it's like second nature to me and I'm glad I'm a vaper.
