I've noticed that some of you have been vaping for a few years now. My curiosity is getting the better of me, so I started this thread.

I'm curious to know, how did you, when did you become aware of vaping? realistically speaking I'm baffled why I only found out 4 weeks ago and that's only because, it popped up on the side of my screen while on my laptop.

Would you like to share as to when,why and how?

i saw a disposable in my local pharmacy... so i went home and googled and found the eGo-T and this forum... the rest as they say is history BTW 11 months today woo hoo me

Like you, very new to this, and it was my wife finding a 10motives in Tesco, almost instantly after 17 years I wanted to vape and not smoke!

No idea why I hadn't come across this before. My sister-in-law had one a couple of years ago, looked like a pen, and was purple, and cost £80, had tiny little cartridges about the size of my rollie filters. She lost the charger and never saw it again

My first encounter was outside Liverpool St Station, whilst enjoying a roll-up.
Some goon E-lite salesman came bouncing up and thrust onein my face, after
having let me see him have to half a dozen others have a go on the same device.
I declined to try it.
About a year later I saw some Red disposables on sale in my local offy, tried a
couple. They were pants, but I got proof of concept.
Went on Google and found this wonderful site and after lurking and reading a lot,
I ordered myself a Riva kit. I had my last nasty about a month later.

I saw some e cig look-a-like kits for sale on ebay in 2008 and my curiosity got the better of me, so I bought one. I used it for a few weeks and it packed up, so I bought another one. When that one packed up after about a month, I contacted the seller, (mentioning no names) and he sent me another one after I'd returned the faulty one. When that one gave up the ghost I gave up with e cigs and went back to smoking again.
So all in all, I've used e cigs for almost a year.

Edited to add it's a few days over a year all ready, I did the maths wrong! Lol.

I had a text message to say someone had seen someone with one and had asked where to get one and they said TW, instantly googled them, had the Tornado kit the next day, didn't know anything else existed for a bit then found here

I was in my local garage and the chaps serving in there knew how much I smoked and gave me a new disposable they had just got in to try, even told me it was ok to do in the shop. Took 4/5 drags and was really impressed. Went home, started a bit of low level search Ing bought a sky kit. Realised really quickly that the carts were going to cost a load of money so started on some proper research, found AAEC, bought an LT & Riva kit and now on my Provari.

congrats Gordy, for me it was a year ago + i bought an intellicig after reading about ecigs, it was crap i failed to give up, then moving forward one of my colleagues handed out business cards for a friend of his, who was selling e-lites bought one it was okay, didnt work.. then came me checking out and finding skycig, out of all of them it did work but was just too weak... luckily while using the skycig along with nasties, i found ECF and Chrissie helped me and pointed me over here, the rest is history upgraded bought a Vision 900 and bobs your uncle!

I think I first tried e-cigs around 2006. It was the really plastic look-a-like model. It cost a lot but broke the first night. Then my son told me about the new types of e-cigs in 2010. I got the 650mAH batteries. I have never had an analogue since. Its about 2 years now.

I was aware of these e-cigs but dismissed them and continued on and off with patches.

I am an avid reader of the forums on MSE and I found Electronic cigarettes, I read what was on there, pummelled them with silly questions which where replied to by some very nice people.
A month later I decided to have a go ( thanks to Lotus-eater, & Karma).

Never looked back. So grateful to the people on that forum and long may they reign.
In my 4th month now and I will never smoke a stinky again, I am hoarding stuff in case the power that be decide to tax it, tell us we can't vape until it has been regulated.
