As I've often said Tim, vaping isn't expensive. Coming on here is!! That is so true, if I hadn't joined AAEC I would be still happily chugging away on my Ego-W kit

Gordy, the classic blend is much less sweet than Kentucky Premium blend. I find it quite a smoky taste. I like it

PG and VG are both considered safe for vaping, and each has its own advantages, so it is mostly down to personal preference. Some people are not sure about PG, because VG is a more common substance.
With regards the safety of PG it is used in hospital inhalation therapy, even for lung transplant patients, it is also the preferred medium used in asthma inhalers to deliver asthma medication. So it is considered very safe to inhale. If VG were a safer medium to carry stuff to the lungs, I think the medical profession would use it, as it is quite a bit cheaper than PG.
PG gives a better throat hit, whilst VG makes more visible vapour.
PG is kinder to the atomiser in your ecig than VG, making it last longer.
PG carries flavours slightly better than VG.
PG has germicidal properties
Some people simply prefer to vape VG, or a VG/PG mix, it is a different vape, sweeter. Its just down to personal preference, but with regards safety, PG is just as safe as VG.

That is interesting, I will look into that further. The article says that it is only a hypothesis, not a fact, but it is still something of interest. It says that the levels of formaldehyde found were 5 times less than the amount found in tobacco smoke, so e cigs are still a healtheir alternative than smoking tobacco. Although I can see that those who may want to curb the use of e cigs, could use this to strengthen their case. I have tried VG e liquid and do not like it, because for me I want a good throat hit and just didnt get it from VG vapour, even though it produced alot of smoke. I also found the taste of VG a bit unpleasant. PEG as well I tried and did not like the taste of that. PG is the only diluent I have found satisfying, but as I say, that is a personal preference. So I hope that they do some further studies on this and thanks for pointing that out to me...appreciated.

You can read the similar analysis of VG only liquid here: www.intellicig.com/research-and-development/vapour-analysis/And there is more analysis from the menu on the left. Intellicig do only VG liquids as you are probably aware. Well I put two an two together and arrived at the conclusion that those traces can only have come from PG and that their hypothesis is correct. I may be wrong and more study is needed. I only vape 70/30 liquids anyway. But at this point if anyone asks, I cannot say that PG and VG are as safe as each other for vaping.

No I was not aware that Intellicig only do VG based e liquid. That quite surprises me.
From what I am now Googling, some articles are reporting studies showing that e cig vapour does not contain any formaldehyde, and other studies are saying they found some. So it seems to be a bit of an ongoing investigation.
One thing I do know about propylene glycol and formaldehyde, is that propylene glycol only denatures into formaldehyde at a specific temperature. So it could be that the various different findings in that respect, relate to the e cigs and the temperature that they heat the e liquid too. Different e cigs heat to different degrees, it may be that some day there will be a standard temperature regulated, especially if the effect of over heating is the creation of these compounds.
Of course there is the possibility that the flavour in the ecig produced unwanted compounds that they found. To my mind it is the flavourings that are the biggest unknown in terms of inhalation safety in e cigs. Although I dont worry too much in that respect, because compared to the tobacco smoke that I inhaled for over twenty years, all the various good quality e liquids I have vaped, I consider to be hundreds of times safer than that.

Hey, I'm glad you liked the VR range, onedayi'llquit. I got amaretto blend and peachwood in the post yesterday, but my taste buds have stopped working so I have no idea if they're nice or not. I'd second the 7 blend. Same creamy smoky flavour as the others in the range, but with a bourbon whisky tang. Gorge, Happy vaping!
