On your version of the wicks, do you trim the extra long bits, or do you have them extending beneath the feed cylinder into the tank? Just trying to picture how it works with your way of doing the wicks. edit: Just re-read the thread and it looks like you have the 2mm + the 1mm pushed into the channels. Then a 2mm extra for the coil.

Just trying to picture how it works with your way of doing the wicks. The buffer wick is trimmed so that it sits within the confines of the ceramic cup, nail clippers are best for cutting this The main wick itself is done the same way that the 3mm wick is done, on the negative terminal side I trim to the base of the ceramic housing On the positive terminal side I trim to the bottom o-ring of the center post. It's a tad thirstier this way but worth it for the improved performance

I found the flavour was a bit strange for the first day of use. It's really good now though.

Some wicks have a funky taste to them steve, I've never figured out whether it's a residue left over from a detergent used in it's manufacturing or something similar, boiling it often removes most of it or you can just vape through it.

There is a funny taste when you first use a new coil it must be the wick (The wick that the pen comes with) Not sure if your meant to wash the wick 1st?? i didnt, but the funny taste goes after a bit

What a great idea, certainly worth a try. I've just ordered some from Here and I'll report back when I've had a go at it Well I got my little crimp tubes in the post today, great service from this ebayer. I had a go at using them to join some wires but they are soooooooo tiny I failed miserably . Three or four pinged out of my tweezers across the room, never to be seen again . When I did finally manage to get two wires into a tube one of them snapped when I crimped it If anyone else would like a try with these send me a PM and I'll forward them on - I'm not going to try again.

Try this oneday..
Minimally join your wires, just one or two inline twists..Slide it on and flash it with a lighter

It's the best news ever Esme, we've won 3 golds today as far as I'm concerned. All kudos to you for not giving up, many a person would have.

thanks ellen I've got some Cocomel in it and it tastes delicious I feel a real sense of acheivement in building her perpy.......... I was actually going to put "and esme wins the gold for team vape in Penelope construction" lol sandra............. at one point I really dispaired of ever getting her up and running........... but blakey's guide was so helpful......... we should have this as a sticky......... for new owners and perhaps those that need a little refreshing on the basics lol
