Am thinking of buying a new laptop and will give mine to my friends little girl, but i want to ensure that all traces of websites etc (an no not naughty ones) have been deleted in case they are not suitable for a child.
Am i correct in thinking that if i go into history and delete it all that's it or is there something else i can do.

Download CCCleaner and run all the scans and delete everything it finds..Link to portable version below: www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/portableNo need to install and you can just delete the folder after is finished. It'll get rid of 99% of the stuff..The only way to be 100% sure is to format and wipe the hard drive with zeros and reinstall the operating system..But if it going to someone you know, CCCleaner should suffice:

You can use it whenever you want..It will wipe out your internet history and login sessions and the like but no harm in using it..
Before you sell it/pass it on, remember to tick the wipe free space and network passwords in the windows tab and tick everything on the applications tab. Some of these are ticked by default because they take a long time to run..
This will take a long time to do but worth doing it just before you want to get rid of it..
