I know what you mean luner but the gap was a little too uncomfortable in the hand, I supposed I could get used to it. I used a few o-rings to fill and make it more comfortable to hold
Definitely an all day jobbie though with an 18650 + kick and a full to the brim odysseus, I would feel perfectly secure going out for the day with just this set up in my pocket
