Thanks Karma but I think I will give up on refilling.
A pack of 5 prefilled works out about £7 for 100-150 ciggs worth compared to £35 real ciggs. I'm more than happy with that.
Many thanks again Anthony

Once again thank you ever so much for all the helpful information and kind words.
I am at my sisters now and have ordered some prefilled LnB cartomisers for my mum.
Are these ok to use with the riva ?
If so I will order some for myself and stick to prefilled along with the advised drip tips and see how I get on. I'm sure I'm refilling them fine as I filled my first cart 3 times and was fine, I just started having problems after the first cartomiser.
Kind regards and many thanks Anthony & Doreen

Greetings once again. Firstly many thanks to all those that were able to assist me a while ago with my initial purchase of our first Ecig supplies. I purchased from Vape Escape an SD key ring cig for my mother and a Riva 1100 for myself. My mother has got on well with hers and I will be ordering a couple more for her as I am aware they are not intended for full time use, however being unable to use batteries with buttons leaves no other option, but is not a problem. She likes the LnB prefilled cartomisers and so will keep her supplied with those so she is happy and down to 10 cigerettes a day already. However I have been less fortunate. My first cartomiser lasted 3 days and during the first 3 days I smoked half my normal number of cigarettes, however after using up my first cartomiser I have had a series of problems. 1 Cart when filled ( 20 drops ) did nothing, I put a few more drops in and the wadding soaked them up and tried again and ended up with a mouth of burning hot liquid. I then tried 2 other carts and after 2 or 3 draws ended up with burnt lips, not from liquid but from the tip of the cartomiser. I have tried my mothers SD key ring and find it is no where near as hot, however as a heavy smoker realise that its not going to be a viable option, even though it was a much more natural and pleasing experience. I have also tried one of my mother’s prefilled carts from the SD on my Riva and find that after 2-3 draws like my home filled carts burns my lips / mouth. ( not sure if the prefilled SD keyring carts are meant to be used with the riva, if not might be the reason ? ) I do not think cartomisers are for me, is there another solution where the element is further away from the mouth / lips ? I have tried to do some reading up myself www.safercigs.co.uk/Vision_Ego_Clearomizers_16ml/p705283_5779009.aspxwould this be a viable solution ? As always many thanks for any and all assistance and your time in reading my question Kind regards Anthony & Doreen

Greetings again everyone,
Thank you again for all your effort and time.
With regards my mothers hands, her wrists have had metal rods placed in the wrists and has such she has very limited movement of the wrist and the bone in her thumbs has been fused to the hand bones meaning she can not move her thumb only the knuckle and due to arthritis she has very limited movement of other bones in her hands / fingers.
As an example she has just had to have her traditional canister pump action inhaler replaced with an automatic one with no moving parts and she can not hold a normal style pen / pencil and apply pressure to write with it.
I have had a long discussion with mum and we have decided to purchase a Riva 1100, wall charger and a selection of liquids. If she is unable to use the Riva it will still be fine for me.
Tafilad does that battery fit the Riva ?, and is there somewhere in the UK that sells them ?. I've been stung with import tax before and the admin costs are a joke compared to the fairly reasonable tax amount.
Looking forward to ordering on Wednesday and will report back asap, in the mean time thank you all once again for your kindness and understanding.
Regards Anthony & Doreen

Hello and thank you all once again for your time and assistance.
Firstly Perpetua, thank you very much indeed for posting that video but not for the reason you might think.
The E-cigg that was given to my mother several years ago had no buttons and thus was not a consideration during this information harvesting exercise.
The problem is my mother has osteoarthritis, both of her wrists are roded and her thumbs fused. Pushing that small button five times to turn on and off again would cause her severe and I mean severe pain, and the prospect of holding it while taking a puff would be impossible.
Please tell me that the Riva 1100 is not the same, if it is we are back to square one. She would probably be able to manage a button to turn on and off but no way would she be able to manage to hold down a button while holding it to inhale.
Andythatcher & The Pheonix thank you for the info I guess that part if I ever manage to get to the stage of ownership sounds like trial and error which given the low cost of the liquid I am happy to play ball with, regardless thank you for the information.
Kind regards and many thanks again Anthony & Doreen

Greetings once again,
Many thanks for the welcome messages and information posted you are all very kind indeed.
Tinytim & Chrissie thank you, I have to admit upon first glimpse I was actually temped by the Joyetech as it had a wall charger and appeared to have 2 batteries, however after reading of further posts I find it is better to go with popular opinion and so shall pass on this one.
As such I shall go with the Riva 1100.
As previously stated we will purchase one first and then when happy shall order 3 more so we have 2 each.
I noticed when reading about the Joyetech that the atomisers and batteries require replacing fairly regularly. When ordering the first Riva with cartomisers and a wall charger what consumables should I also order with the that require replacing regularly / semi regularly ?
Do they have disposable plastic tips / caps to attach on the end by any chance as the one my mother used a few years ago was all metal ?
And lastly ( thanks for bearing with me ) the liquid, we both smoke Lambert gold and am not having any luck finding liquid quoted as being similar. Would the Gold & Silver 8mg from vapeescape.co.uk be a safe bet ?
Many thanks again in advance for all your help Anthony

Greetings,
Firstly please excuse my apparent lack of personal research and ignorance to my own question. The reason for this is due to not having internet access myself and suffering from among other things with agoraphobia making it difficult to use to internet at other available sources.
I wish to purchase some electronic cigarettes for myself and my mother. My mother smokes 20 Lambert and Butler gold a day and I smoke 40+ a day. My mother wants to quit and I want to cut down to 20 a day.
2 Years ago a relative from America was staying with us for my sisters wedding and left behind an electronic cigarette for my mother which she used and lost, she got on ok with it but disliked the vanilla flavouring.
From what I have read I know a little and would like if possible for someone to recommend where and what to buy.
At first I would like to order 1 kit for us to both try and then purchase enough for us to have 2 each so one is on charge and one ready for use.
I do not want anything cheap, good quality well built and safe to use with a mains charger not USB and a single battery not a stacked battery ( I read this is safer ? )
I would also like liquid that tastes similar to that of Lambert & Butler gold tobacco, that’s from a reputable supplier that’s “safe” – insert irony - what ever that’s supposed to mean when consuming an addictive drug.
Any help or advice would be most welcomed and appreciated, however please, please keep it simple as I am very good at making mountains of mole hills and panicking about the most trivial of things.
Regards and thanks Anthony & Doreen
