Just completed my first redeployment shift into ITU. I haven’t stopped crying since I got home. Partly because of the overwhelming feelings of being redeployed into an area that I have absolutely no experience in as a post qualified nurse (I work in scrub in theatres, post qualified 5 months, yes this is how much help they need right now). I have the war wounds to prove it with the pressure sores from the masks even after just a few hours (now imagine 12 and a half hours with this mask on with perhaps an hour break in total all day, sleep then repeat )Also because I am seeing first hand the worst of the worst .And mainly because I am seeing that what they are saying is true. It’s a hard pill to swallow and we are doing our very best to save our patients, but also I honestly do not think for many Patient’s family members, they realise that the last time they saw their loved one before they went into hospital with this suspected virus, would be the last time that they were ever going to see them. If I haven’t reiterated enough before, I bloody well urge you all and everyone else that you can pass the message onto to stay in doors. Read what you like, it may or may not help your mental health or otherwise, unless it is 100% necessary, remain in your house, safe. Im sure many of you do, but I’m sure you know someone that isn’t. Pass it on, pay it forward, whatever you want to call it. God bless and for those that aren’t religious, stay safe. Social distancing is not an option at this point, it’s survival.

Emotions are running high understandably at this time of much uncertainty for all of us and our families . . . . but let's be kind to each other, don't you think.
On a personal note I had something of a meltdown at work yesterday, when I started my shift we had no disposable gloves left, still no protective screens around tills, no visors or masks ( those that I ordered have still yet to be delivered, postage/delivery services are taking longer than normal . . . . again understandably. ) Yet other supermarkets in the locality have these in place for their staff.
So I ranted, loud and long at our Branch Manager . . . . if any company is expecting their employees to pitch up for work, then they have a duty of care to safeguard their well being as best possible in this current situation, our manager did fully agree with me and had said similar a little earlier to those higher up the management scale.
As a company, we're so busy applauding the good works being done within local communities, which I also totally support, that protecting staff appears to be a secondary priority.
I've gone from being disappointed to cross, very cross when I have people unknown to me not two feet away paying for their shopping, completely undoing any of the preventive measures outside of work that I'm taking in respect to social distancing ( which is well nigh impossible in a supermarket anyway! )
Preventive, safeguarding actions could and should have been taken weeks ago by all companies when news of this pandemic was first known.
Absolutely. Your own safety is paramount above all others you must absolutely challenge when necessary. With regards to posting things we’ve seen or heard I think it’s important to fact check before posting or at least state you don’t know if it’s right so remind those reading to take it as they wish. But always be kind and don’t vilify those that share posts. If you wish to seek evidence based advice I would always point people in the direction of government websites and websites such as the CDC, WHO, UN to name a few, other web sites of interest include the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (they offer very relevant and free online courses if you really get bored!) and a few other universities. 😊

Something I learned today, wear gloves and or disinfect your bin handles when you bring them back in. Refuge collectors can handle upto two thousand bins a day, be careful folks. 👍

Well i took the nippers and dog for a walk yesterday as part of our once only excersise of the day. I still...cannot....believe what i see. People walking in huddles, bumping old friends hugging and hand shaking laughing away as if they are invincable. My scum bag neighbours who havent done a days work in their life had a lovely little pot party in their garden for all their friends. Its crazy whats going on...yet some are making it crazier than it has to be It’s scary how many people disregard this as some sort of drill to prepare is for the real thing later on isn’t it 🤔 I’m stunned at the amount of people that can not seem to grasp the gravity of the situation. We dont need a crystal ball to tell us the effect that will have on the situation 😡

Thanks rezello for the work that you are doing/preparing for. These are challenging, scary and uncertain times for all, especially those at the front line. Good luck and thanks for reiterating the advice to stay at home. Thankyou and I’m sure that everyone on here is sensible and follows the guidance but if you can all reiterate this to as many as possible outside of this group we can all help and get through this together. Stay safe and stay in 😊

I got so bored I started talking to a spider, surprisingly nice guy for a web developer. Love your optimism 😂 As a theatre practitioner who has just had a short three hour training session on itu nursing, I am beginning to worry as to how this is going to pan out. So pleased to see a 4000 bedded hospital has now been knocked up to be run by military nurses I am hopeful that the pressure on the nhs is going to be slightly lessened when the sh!t hits the fan. But I am still very scared 😟 All I can say is, stay in your house, PLEASE! If we can prevent even a small percentage of what we have seen in Italy just recently then it’s a slightly better result. Some people have no idea about the effects of them meeting with even just one other person outside of their home. I’m sure I don’t need to dumb it down to you people, but just think about what you could be taking to someone else not knowing where they could be taking it to. As a healthcare worker I can not even begin to tell you how worried I am at bringing something home. I have already witnessed one of my babies on a ventilator, I dont want to witness that ever again. So it comes to this, I have got my toiletries and overnight bits together and waiting in my car as when I come into contact with a confirmed case it will be a choice as to whether I return home, or take up the offer of a paid hotel until this is over, which could be months rather than weeks....the longer people do not comply with guidance will dictate that. As a key worker I have the option to still send my kids to school. My twins were the only ones at the preschool, and despite resistance from the preschool as they very much want to help out key workers as much as possible, I have taken them out altogether as well as my eldest out of primary school. I have managed this by my partner negotiating hours at her workplace to ensure that we can look after our kids at home completely so that preschool can now close and workers stay at home to prevent the spread and look after their own children. Anything you can do to be at home, do it, speak to your employers, negotiate hours if it helps, just stay at home and keep your children in. The more we comply with guidance, the sooner we can get back to normal. Sorry to those that already comply and that know this, I’m not trying to be patronising and I am certainly not overreacting. Help us help you. Follow the guidance and stay safe, all of you. I dont want us to be in the same situation as Italy where we are having to choose who lives and who dies because we don’t have enough ventilators. This is very real. I’m frightened, but trying to keep calm.

Unfortunately panic breeds panic and that is exactly what we are seeing here it’s very frustrating and if everyone purchased normally then this whole thing would be a lot less stressful as there is plenty for everyone.... what I would like to know is where is everyone getting all this money from as I work full time and get a half decent wage but even I sure as sh!t can’t afford to buy on that scale!

Thankyou il take a look. I was thinking for my other half but really wanted something with variable voltage but this appears to be set and wondered if you still get a satisfactory hit from it despite this. Plus this one has the advantage of a refillable pod however the pods are pricey to replace when the coil goes so is it really worth it ?
They are indeed set . . . . although I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance these little gizmo's have, battery run time isn't brilliant - but that's to be expected from any of these small pod systems if you're going to use it exclusively. The Aspire ones I have the airflow open to the max and for me they give an airy MTL vape, which I like. The pods are also refillable, I'm still on the original Spryte coil which has had best part of 50ml through it now.
There's no easy answer whether these or the Uwell would work for your OH . . . . like all our equipment you don't really know until you've tried it for yourself. Thankyou I guess with these it’s just trial and error and everyone’s sweet spot is different 🤗

Haven't tried it rezello , but if it's just a pod system you're curious to try out then Cloudstix have a number going very reasonably in their sale:
The Aspire ones I've bought have replaceable coils, adjustable airflow - plus the option to buy a more sensible size replacement pod on Ebay:

Hey 👋 it's been a while, and I know this is an old post aaaaand..... I'm still vaping my eleaf stick mtl having been through all of the different stages of vape from a cheap sticks through rebuilds and mechs right back to my old faithful. However I was keen to find out thoughts on this particular form of vaping. In my opinion it is an extremely expensive way to vape with such wasteful throw away single use pods, but I was enchanted by the stealthy and sleek look of some of these devices. Alas...it seems my fears were true...they have a place with new to vaping vapers....and not someone as thrifty as me. However, having said that...are there any decent refillable ones on the market that anyone can recommend me try...it's for my "going out out " vape cheers 👋 The Aspire Breeze 2 might be an option. You can get a 3ml tank from our friends in the East. I actually have two of those living in the car after a panic attack when I was waiting for the one that has to be obeyed at the hair dresser and had nothing to vape with me. Thankyou il certainly be taking a look at that then What's the hit like? I normally use straight up boring old menthol (but does the trick for me )
