I quite enjoyed that... I haven't been spoken down to like that since I was about 6.

It wasn't the no smoking/ecig policy I questioned ( though it does drive me nuts )... It was "the cease and desist" and his reasoning I questioned ! "It looks bad" ! ???

Come on lal... even you have got to see..there are better ways to approach the adult public ! If not we will just have to agree to disagree on this one

Listen...I'll let you in on a little secret... As a rule I don't drink... except when my brother-in-law comes to visit. Then it's cowboy style.. what's ever in the cupboard unopened the cork is pulled and chucked and we proceed to get the last drop out first. It's become tradition if you know what I mean and just has to happen.

Soooooo ... here I am sitting eight sheets to the wind chuffing away on my MVP in a cloud of vapour...laughing at him trying to get out the back door for a fag.. when BANG... Fault on MVP strikes me down mid giggle.

The gent in question was very polite, as was I....If the "poor bloke" had simply said e-cigs are included in the no smoking policy that would have been that... I would have just gone back to having the odd stealth vape as the minutes turned into hours ....sorry but... I would have

As for No Smoking Policy... have you seen it round at level 3 outside doors and around the smoking shelter...you need your wellies on to get through the fag butts.. reminds you of people emptying their car ashtrays on the ground...

Whilst waiting for mum to be seen at PRI today (what should have been a ten minute job took 3 bleddy hours !) I nipped out to the car to check the dog was okay. On my way back from the car park to the back door of the hospital I drew out my trusty Ego-t for a quick vape.

A gentleman stopped me and introduced himself as the hospital smoking cessation officer he pointed to my hand which was by my side and said " I'm well aware that that is an e-cig you are smoking.. I would like you to cease and desist this instant as it ....looks bad"

I replied.. "Sir, if you are telling me it is against hospital policy at this time to use an e-cig on the premises.. then I will put it away immediately... If on the other hand you are telling me to stop vaping because you don't like the look of it then I'm sorry I will carry on vaping"

"Well" he said "you are only encouraging other people to smoke... after all you are blowing out smoke" "No I'm not... I'm blowing out vapour, and if that's your only problem then I can stop producing vapour quite easily see... (inhale..double intake of breath.. no vapour ) ...how's that"

"Hurrrumph !" said he... "your still encouraging others to smoke" ! I answered " I don't follow your reasoning at all sir... after all... pointing to the packed patients smoking shelter...the smokers aren't encouraging me to smoke are they ?

Pushed for time I smiled politely left and entered the building. I may not have won the argument but I did feel like saying "Touche"
