just a thought, if the guy was any good at his job he'd make himself redundant! Nah he wouldn't, you never know when one of those sneaky e-cig users will sneak in under the wire, Vigilance is our watchword.

My Labs never liked smoke from stinkies I was always treated to the sneezey shake of the head at the slightest whiff..but vapour doesn't bother them at all, my 8 month old will actually try to catch vapour My only advice to zeldamum would be. At all times be kind, stay quiet, stay calm... but be deliberate. Cleaning his cage or moving his mattress should not be up for debate. just do it. My granfather bred and trained Labs and Spaniels for gundogs, I loved watching him with the dogs he never raised his voice, was always kind, quiet, patient and kept calm no matter what. The dogs adored him. My father was the same with horses.. I remember one day watching 6 men trying to put an 18 hand Shire into a lorry/float. The horse wasn't for any of it, he was rearing up and dancing about. They had 2 lead ropes on him with a man at either side of his head and a strap round his behind with two men trying to physicaly drag him up the ramp. They also had two men with a gate each trying to close the gap at the back of him down so he had no place to go but forward up the ramp. When dad turned up the horse was kicking and rearing with eyes rolling.. he was shaking and sweating (as were the men). He walked forward took the horse led him away into the corner of the yard.. cracked away to him quietly while rubbing him down with straw. Once he had settled down dad led him round in a big circle lining him up with the ramp and led him straight into the box with absolutely no fuss. I couldn't believe it! when I asked him later how he did it he said... I wanted him to go into the box and he knew it Moral of the story...Stay calm, stay quiet be kind but be deliberate. Goodluck

Great idea ! I'd be up for that We're taking the van (and awning) to Nairn for a fortnights fishing in a couple of weeks time...(wish I had a fishing smiley) If I hook in to one of the 10-12lb Rainbows their catching up there ...this could very well happen to me

That's a really nice looking Van.. just the very job I agree with you and bluefish about the new vans. I haven't seen a new van that I like or would think about giving up the one we have for. Certainly doesn't look like it needs much doing to it so ....Hope you get many more happy years out of it.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of Caravaning... the next thing you'll be after is an awning, then it's back to hours of setting up. You'll start wishing you had one of those lovely campervans that just drive in and the seats swivel and the kettle starts whistling and your still trying to figure which poles go where ! Makes quitting very worth while though doesn't it
