Just been listening to Nick Clegg on LBC and someone called in to see what the governments standing was on the upcoming EU directive on E-cigs... was it one of you?
Nick Clegg admitted to having little or no knowledge on the subject and will be answering on next weeks show [28/2]. He normally does do his research so I look forward to hearing what he has to say.... especially as he's just give up smoking! Maybe we need to convert him to vaping!

This is the problem isn't it, the man on the street has so little say in anything these days! One can but hope for common sense to prevail [tongue firmly in cheek there].
Oh well, on the bright side, number one son [age 21] has said he'll move out if I start smoking again....every cloud and all that lol I jest of course, no way would I ever go back down that route!!! Think I may have to get a handbag like esmecullen's and go kick some MP arse!

Thank you for being the voice of reason Kibbster.
I did wonder how on earth there would/could suddenly be a blanket ban on vaping as such. As my son pointed out too, the look a like e-cigs maybe as they could be said to still encourage smoking, but to ban the paraphernalia would be a nightmare [he used the smoking of cannabis as an example, the 'drug' may be illegal but not the pipes, bongs etc...not that I knew what any of that was lol].
As some one incredibly famous once said 'there are two certainties in life...death and taxes' The government will get us in the end I suppose but it won't be as bad as losing the whole thing. And hopefully, still a lot less expensive than smoking!

Just wondering............. if they did get banned.............. it would not be an instant ban so we would have time to stock up........... but on the link Karma mentioned from UK Vapers someone questioned the fact that although it MAY become law.......member states do have a veto........... whether this toothless Government would veto it remains to be seen............ cant see it tho...............Cameron is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard when it comes to Europe. But what I can surmise is the fact a member state does have the right to veto and perhaps if enough states to veto it.............. then the bill would fail.............. until the next time The way I understand EU works is all 27 (I think) members have to be in agreement, some countries have the power to Veto and block something. In theory then the "deal" falls through because some aren't on board. Although if previous memory serves right this doesn't actually make any difference when the EU decides it wants something badly enough and they'll go ahead without the agreement of all member states, when it suits them. But anyway, the point of that document is not to ban selling of e-cigs and the associated juices, spares and parts etc but to just ban marketing so it would be like tobacco where you aren't allowed to advertise the product. Analogues seem to still be doing very well without advertising and I don't see that many ads for e-cigs in mainstream press so meh IMHO Will have little to no effect on us and people we "convert" to e-cigs. Ahhhh... So really if thats the case we are panicking over nothing then! All good. Lisa x |

Hi Lisa As Gordy suggested, it's worth having a purely mechanical mod, couple of rebuildables and some nicotine (this can be frozen)  Hmmm I understood some of those words :0/ As someone who can just about get to grips with her ego t... Also its a case of having the money to pay for all of this upfront. Though I was a 30 a day smoker who gave up for health reasons doG only know where I used to find the money! Would it not be a case of still being able to buy 'equipment' and just the juices containing nicotine that would be banned? Surely that can't ban people from inhaling flavoured liquid! As for buying pure nicotine, I have read that this in itself is a mine field as in the wrong hands it can be lethal. Lisa x |

Have to agree with you there. I have only been vaping properly for a few months and have to admit to panicking as to what to do if it was banned! It doesn't help when you read of more seasoned vapers talking of buying nicotine by the litre etc lol. Aside from signing the petition is there anything a small time user can be doing? Lisa x |

Ahhh thank you Sarah that makes sense I suppose. Well it seems okay for now anyways.
My kit came with two batteries and they seem to stay charged for ages....really impressed with them.

I hear what you are saying about the different flavours. I have four new ones coming tomorrow so I suppose it's all just trial and error..... I love the thought of some of the fruit ones but they just don't seem to hit the spot so to speak. I'm a sucker for all things coconut though and find that with a tobacco is me easily pleased lol.

Just a little update...
I got my ego kit last week and am having lots of fun with it! I was on a e-lite and thought I would be using both for a while but the 'hit' off of the ego is so much cleaner and nicer that the e-lite has not seen the light of day.
I do find though some of the juices I have don't give the hit I want to have been mixing them in the carto [?...the plastic thingy] 50/50....some flavour to a tobacco one and this seems to work, otherwise they are too sweet and just taste like sucking flavoured air!
Such a learning curve!!! The vivi thing is still in the box, I'm sure I'll work out what it's for at some point lol
