Obviously the EU wants us to smoke and have health problems, and take away consumer and individual choice. Guess people and health matters little compared to pharmaceutical company profits, tobacco industry profits and duty revenue It's sickening to just even contemplate what they (who we have no control over) can do to our lives

From what I read they want to ban marketing of e-cigs... like that will help, it's not adverts that got most people into e-cigs anyway I suspect. Doesn't mention anything about banning the sale of said items.
Truth is I'm sure this is being done to halt more people moving to e-cigs and taking their tax revenue with them until the EU can work out a tax system for e-cigs.
In short... They trying to pretend they are doing this for people's health. B***ocks! It's all about the taxes, if it was health, smoking would have been banned decades ago.

"Ban all nicotine containing products that have not been approved as a medicine"
This includes cigarette then?

Looks like the the pharma companies, tobacco industry and cigarette manufacturers have been flexing their muscles again.
Money talks and bullsh*t walks...
And we're supposed to be living in a democracy - the Communist Chinese have more choice!!
Signed.

signed both.
most people who start vaping to quit cigs have tried most nrt methods and they didn't work. meaning most will end up smoking again it makes me sick that governments would put tax over people's health......and then whine about smokers costing the nhs millions. they're all just full of sh*te. I don't vote because I'm sick of bull****ing politicians who are basically in it for themselves. if a party got behind ecigs I'd probably vote for them....but hate to say that it would probably be in vein as it'd be part of the manifesto that was dropped once they got in power.

Have to agree with you there. I have only been vaping properly for a few months and have to admit to panicking as to what to do if it was banned! It doesn't help when you read of more seasoned vapers talking of buying nicotine by the litre etc lol. Aside from signing the petition is there anything a small time user can be doing? Lisa x

I think it may be a good idea for everyone to speak with their GP's and possibly MP's about this.
Pointing out that after xx years of addicted smoking you have been able to quit/reduce thanks to this system.
It may not seem like much but it will then be on your medical records and could pave the way for legal action if there is any sort of ban and you end up back on stinkies.
It would be bad for any EU/UK body to try to defend a class action against 500/1000 of us or more.
Also note that whilst most GP's seem useless they do talk to each other at conferences etc and some good may come of it.
Bear in mind that there is no 'obvious' reason to ban e-cigs, no history of people dying from them, or crimes comitted to support the habit. It seems like purely a business and political decision.
I'm off to sign the petition.

Hi Lisa As Gordy suggested, it's worth having a purely mechanical mod, couple of rebuildables and some nicotine (this can be frozen)

Hi Lisa As Gordy suggested, it's worth having a purely mechanical mod, couple of rebuildables and some nicotine (this can be frozen) Hmmm I understood some of those words :0/ As someone who can just about get to grips with her ego t... Also its a case of having the money to pay for all of this upfront. Though I was a 30 a day smoker who gave up for health reasons doG only know where I used to find the money! Would it not be a case of still being able to buy 'equipment' and just the juices containing nicotine that would be banned? Surely that can't ban people from inhaling flavoured liquid! As for buying pure nicotine, I have read that this in itself is a mine field as in the wrong hands it can be lethal. Lisa x
