Seriously Skip, don't go super cheap with batteries and chargers, buy from reputable vendors! I'm a sucker for a bargain. I understand that my enthusiasm for a cheap deal might not be the best way to obtain good & safe vaping gear. I'm sorry for asking pubicly.

I think they are unprotected ICR type batterys so you have to be careful. Looks like the charger is to blame though. Which one did you buy robby? www.nitecore.co.uk/chargers/intellicharge-i4.htmlThat one, but cheaper slowboat so havent got it yet. Extra useful cause you can put nimh and nicad batts into it I am curious as to where this slowboat originated

Thankyou for the info Skipraider, my charges are going in the bin, im hanging on to the batteries because i brought more from Healthcabin, which have always been a reputable vendor imo, and they are exactly the same batteries from vaporbreak, if there is any problems with the batts, healthcabin can have them back No prob, I know that a lot of members bought the kit and wanted to make peeps aware of this potential problem. At this time of year we get distracted by things and it's easy to forget about the battery charger being left on.

vapour_tron on aussievapers site says:
"Be very carefull. I would not use those chargers . After charging your batteries check the voltage on it if it over 4.3V Its overcharging One of the batteries that i tested on the a very similar type to yours reached 4.75V unloaded Batteries of that kind will start to break down at 4.5V unloaded and normally Vent at 4.8V . Its just not worth the risk. I dont mean to alarm anyone But just be carefull. Here is a quote from the Battery Universaty
"Overcharging Lithium-ion Lithium-ion operates safely within the designated operating voltages; however, the battery becomes unstable if inadvertently charged to a higher than specified voltage. Prolonged charging above 4.30V forms plating of metallic lithium on the anode, while the cathode material becomes an oxidizing agent, loses stability and produces carbon dioxide (CO2). The cell pressure rises, and if charging is allowed to continue the current interrupt device (CID) responsible for cell safety disconnects the current at 1,380kPa (200psi).
Should the pressure rise further, a safety membrane bursts open at 3,450kPa (500psi) and the cell might eventually vent with flame." "

Wow is that charger Trustfire? Glad i use the Xtar now...Scary stuff! No it is not a trustfire!!! ALL 3 of the trustfire's I have terminate charging at a safe 4.1 V... as does the Xtar WP2ii I have. The Vamo one I've got was terminating at 4.21V on the multimeter, 4.3V on the Vamo display for the first few days with a green light. Then it started the red/green flashing light thing at 4.2 ???

I have a fair few batteries that look identical to those ones. I bought them when 'he who shall not be named' was selling off all the SD stuff cheaply I have four of them, hopefully my new charger will pick up any problems with them before getting to that point in the pic I think they are unprotected ICR type batterys so you have to be careful. Looks like the charger is to blame though. Which one did you buy robby?

With this and the report on UKV about the Vamo battery explosion, it's going in the bin. I'm looking for a decent charger now.

I've got the pics on my PC, couldn't get it to work, I'll try again on this post. I joined the aussie forum just to get the pics.
Edit: I get this error message: error calling pre_post2 -- Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/index.cgi line 9616.

I'll try to attach pic of kv-vv18350 charger
EDIT: Picture didn't work. I tried adding via the attachment box. Maybe someone better at this than me will have a look at the aussie thread pictures and add them. They are of the charger, batterys and the damage caused to the area where one of the batterys exploded in the charger.
The charger and batterys look like the ones supplied with the Vamo kit.
