WARNING TO ALL BARCLAYS ACCOUNT HOLDERS BEWARE!!!! AND EVERYONE SHARE PLEASE, THIS IS SOO SERIOUS!!!!

I have just recieved a phone call from someone claiming to be the Barclays fraud team as they have noticed tonight there has been 2 very large amounts that have been tried to be taken from my account which they suspect to be fraudulent.. They asked me if I knew the company and also a ladies name which obviously I didnt, they then said that I would need to pass security.. They also said If I was unsure about the call then he could prove he was from Barclays, they told me to look at the number on my phone screen which was 08457555555 and said then to look on the back of my debit card and low and behold it was the same Barclays number but I was still suspicious.. So i asked them to tell me my card details as they had claimed they had them infront of them.. They proceeded to tell me they could tell me the 1st 8 digits which I asked for and they told me the 1st 10 which once again were all correct! So if I wasnt a generally suspisious, untrusting person I could have easily fallen for the next part!! They then asked me for the last 4 digits of my card and to put my card into my pincentry device and press Identify to which I told them no way was I giving those details over the phone, they then told me that my card was at high risk and they needed to cancel my card and delete my online banking etc.. At this point I told them if this is the case I shall hang up and ring Barclays back myself and that I had never ever heard of having to give those details before (usually to identify yourself its with your D.O.B, a regular payment made and mothers maiden name) I then once again very firmly told them they will not be getting any details from me and I have in the past been subject to fraud so I know the protocol to which they hung up very promptly!!

I rang the number back and sure enough it went through to Barclays! So i rang there fraud team who told me that they never ask for those details, they may ask for a code from the pincentry device but not the last digits of ur card and they certainly wouldnt give digits out over the phone.. They also told me that most cards first 8-12 digits are the same its usually the last 4 that are different and that my card was safe and no money had tired to be taken!! And could confirm that no one had rang me from Barclays at all..

This was 100% someone trying to con me out of my card details and it was all so true with the digits they told me and the phone number so anyone could really easily fall for this!!

PLEASE SHARE SHARE SHARE to your FB wall and get the word spread as this is seriously dangerous.. Some very clever person out there is praying on the innocent hardworking public..
