Hi, Charlie here.
Happy New year and thank you for all your posts - plenty of room for everyone in the world including their opinions.
I am a new vendor (the business is less than a month old) and don’t want to mislead anyone. I'm not selling the Twists as Joyetech. They are simply listed as described by the supplier. I have used these and not had any problems so far, but please tell me if you do have any problems - I will be happy to put things right.
The Twists in question were one of the first things I ordered as a new vendor. Here is a link to the company I ordered from.
cigreen.en.alibaba.com/I've probably sold a dozen or so Twists. I have had only one customer so far who has had problems with these Twists and I gave him a refund including postage straight away. I’ve not yet received it back to see what the issues are, I suspect the firing pin may have been pushed down as this is a known issue with many Twists. The customer was extremely friendly and understanding and said he would have been happy to accept a replacement Twist.
As a consumer of electronic goods, I know you sometimes get duds and even dud batches (even with high-end branded products). I will always try to sort duds out quickly as it's not good if the vaping device you rely on fails, you need to get it replaced asap!
Charlie's Vape Shop is a Limited company based in Ramsgate. Full contact details are displayed at the top of the website if you want to get hold of me. Customer relations is one of the most important things. You will see from my mission statement we want to be a good company and do the right thing.
I'm extremely grateful to forum members above for their understanding and support, and equally for the fact that there are free forums like AAEC for people to discuss opinions and issue warnings where necessary. The only thing I ask, is that if there is a problem you say exactly what it is so I can put it right if I can.
This is such a new industry, I also understand any hesitation on choosing where to shop in the UK, let alone overseas. When you order wholesale from China, it is even harder and as a vendor, I am trying to make it easier for UK customers to benefit from the fast evolving technology coming out of China. Production capacity is changing all the time in China. Factories that made photovoltaic cells, for example, switch part of their production capacity to make eCigs, sometimes under licence and with the agreement and co-operation of the original manufacturer. As a UK supplier, it can be hard keep up. If Joytetech have a patent on 'Twist' and tell me I have infringed this, I will sort it out. At the moment, I am not aware of any patent issues.
And I love it that I am using a £10 or £20 atomizer that works better than one costing five or ten times as much. In fact the non-branded mass produced devices have been more trouble free in my experience. These things need to be mass produced in my opinion so that all smokers can try them. No-one is going to rush out and spend hundreds of pounds before trying an eCig. Every time I order from Chinese suppliers, their product lists have grown and products have been improved.
My very first puff on an eCig was followed immediately with the thought "That's it!" It wasn't long before I was spending a small fortune hunting down vaping kit and trying to get my smoking friends off the stinkies. So now I am working very long hours, even over Christmas and New Year, sending out low cost vaping kits etc. My favourite orders are from people who are utterly new to vaping and I should start posting their emails on my website. For the moment this is what keeps me going as it is not clear at my current price levels that I will be doing much more than paying back the money spent on stock and overheads. The prices are real, but they have been cut to the bone.
One reason I'd like to stick with some of these suppliers (who answer email throughout night and day) and who have so far been very concerned to deal with any production or design issues raised (a tiny percentage), is that I am personally using an atomizer that costs less than £10 from Cigreen (the same supplier of the Twists) that produces better vapor than atomizers costing ten times this price.
I have tried to get hold of Joytech products from China, but they have signed some kind of sole distributor agreement.
I have been meaning to post a greeting on All About E-Cigarettes, but have for some reason had difficulties PM'ing the mods (could not find the PM button). I will try to send a PM again this morning to request supplier status. In the meantime, I hope the mods will forgive me for posting a quick response to the thread above.
Happy New Year to everyone! Lets hope 2013 is a good one for vaping
