...but I did. I stopped smoking! Top of the Evening to you all here!

This is my one week 'anniversary'. How did I get here? Welllllll...a few weeks ago I was in my local shop buying my usual Mayfairs when I noticed a Point Of Sale box of Nicolites on the counter and out of curiosity I bought one, having never seen them before - and my fags too . Cracked open the disposable when I got home and was really gobsmacked (yes, yes, I've read and read and lurked on these boards and know the general consensus on them) at how close it felt to actually smoking - throat hit etc. Only downside was the weight of the darned thingy.

I unintentionally cut down on the stinkies in the following week or so, finding that I actually preferred the taste of the ecig. I stumbled across this wonderful forum via...erm...I forget actually and thought as seeing I was now only smoking two analogues and gagging at the taste of them (See? I know the jargon already) that I would go for it and see if I could go vaping full time.

So, here I am. Just ordered my first proper ecig tonight, the VE Riva 1100 kit in peeenk, natch, (based on the recommendations here) and a few more 5ml juice samples. In the meantime, I have kept about 15 of the 510 cartomisers from the Nicos and am refilling them with some Grizwalds Pick n Mix juice 18mgs - favourite so far is Joocy Fruit. Least liked is the Vanilla Tabac which tastes like mouldy socks - I should know - I have 3 teenage boys Titter ye not, I am vaping them using my Nicolites battery until my new and shiny arrives. I am so excited I could, errrrr... crush a grape! Am I showing my age?

I've been a light smoker lately, 10-15 per day max. Gave up for two whole years years by mainly cold turkey and lozenges 6 years ago and took up running, but spent those 2 years looking and longing for any excuse to start again. Prior to that I had been smoking for 20 years, anything up to 20 per day. Anyhoo! Here I am! So pleased with myself that I have found an alternative an need never feel deprived.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for a wonderful site too. I really can talk - I'm from Belfast if you hadn't guessed and yes, I really have actually kissed the Blarney stone. Looking forward to some craic here. Not crack. That is for a different forum altogether, isn't it?
