Newbie here, so I hope you don't mind me butting in, but it's so interesting what you've said. I haven't had any problems coming off cigarettes since I found vaping. I was so happy to find something healthier, cleaner and cheaper to take its place and still feels like I haven't actually given up. The only time I had to buy a packet of cigs was because the basic e-cig lookalike kept caving on me and was inadequate. Then I found this place, got some sound advice and a Riva and know I'll never go back,(unless they ban vaping). I only wish I'd known someone who could have put me onto it sooner. I've smoked all my life and enjoyed it. Hated what it does to your health, the smell of the house, especially the morning after the night before when we had friends round and more than one person smoked. Even I could tell how bad it was and would go round opening all the windows. The need to decorate all the time because the walls and paint work were going brown. Smelly ashtrays hanging around. The money being spent as every budget day the price went up through the roof. I could give a million reasons why I wanted to stop but never could. The crunch came when I realised exactly how much we (myself and OH) were spending on cigs, so I suppose the main driver, despite all the above, was cost. I bought an e-cig to help me try to give up, started to read up on them, which led me here and I'm over the moon frankly as I'm not convinced I would have been successful at quitting altogether. I've done the maths and know it's going to be so much cheaper now the initial outlay has been made for 2 starter kits and some e liquid, which is less than a week's cigs between us would have cost, but the other benefits are too many to mention. Even my OH hasn't had a problem changing over and has said that he hasn't missed his cigs since I convinced him to give vaping a go with me. I've even found I don't vape as much as I used to smoke. Having lit a cigarette, I had to smoke it all as I wouldn't waste one, but now I'm finding I can just take a couple of vapes when I need to and then switch it off. It's enough for me and it's great. Do like a little more in the evening though If your friend can't see all that, or doesn't want to even try, then there's not a lot you can do about it I'm afraid.

Cheers Banky. I'll be asking for plenty more advice from people on here believe me. Can't believe it's took me so long to find out about vaping. Worried about this stupid EU ban that's threatening now, just find a great alternative and then read about that!! Anyway, will have to look into making my own juice now......hark at me! And Chrissie, I know!!........can't believe it! Only ordered yesterday aft as you know. Here this morning! Great advice from everyone on here as really was getting quite desperate. Now we've got our Riva I can browse at leisure. Love this forum. #icon_welldone#

Hi All Thank you for the nice welcomes to those I haven't thanked yet and now I need to say a BIG thank you to those who helped me yesterday in choosing our first buy following on from a basic e-cig. I can't believe that our postie arrived this morning with our kits and e-liquid after only ordering yesterday!! Bless that man and the absolutely brilliant companies we ordered from. We're snowed in at the moment and never expected to get them so soon, but we are now proud owners of the VE Riva 1100 and what a difference from what we have been using. It's perfect and we are now quite happy to sit out the snow until we can get our car out again. OH is really impressed and I never thought I would get him off his roll ups, but this has worked. Thank you all for the brilliant advice and help. I'm definitely hooked and will no doubt be buying and experimenting more in the near future, but for now, I find this Riva the perfect choice. Thanks again!

Thanks for that Millerkev. Will definitely be looking into that place. Had no idea! And didn't realise the vamo was so big. When you only see pictures, it's really difficult to tell. Just wanted something that wouldn't need 'messing' with all day. So tired of these things we're trying to vape with.

Hi djs Thanks for the info. This is the kind of thing I want to know. I want something that will last all day at work, as I have really long work days, but need something that is also a little discreet.
But all of you are right, I need something for use at home in the evenings etc and something that isn't too OTT and a little more discreet when out and about but doesn't cave on me at a crucial time. What's a lava tube? and what's the difference exactly?

Thanks Millerkev And we're used to the driving, so Sheffield isn't far. Do you have the address? And I'll need to go look at the ego twist now and the mini novas.

Ah thanks Chrissie! been looking for that info for ages, kept seeing the mAh being mentioned but couldn't grasp what the difference actually related to! The simpler you can put it the better in my case................

Hi Millerkev We're up north, Derbyshire, near Bakewell, out in the sticks so to speak. Been looking for a shop somewhere close to local that wouldn't sell us something over expensive just because we don't know what we're doing yet. If you know of anywhere, it'd be great.

oh and Giles.....thank you for the advice, was all set to get the vamo simply because I need something that will work for longer than a couple of hours and don't know enough. Learnt about refilling the cartos from this site as I was throwing them away at first and they didn't last a day each. OH has now watched the videos and is able to refill ok with a couple of small bottles we tried as a trial. It's working ok, but I think the toy cigarettes are the problem, just not enough for our needs. No battery life and cartos are not great at all.Glad i came on here though!

Thanks. so looking forward to getting something better. Been looking at all the suggestions as I'm sure we'll both want more than one model eventually. Didn't realise there was so much available. Totally lost. Will need to spend plenty of time reading on here..........

Thanks Sleepyduck and all of you for the welcome, replies and help.been trying to order before 3pm! Been to the first link and wouldn't you know it, out of stock. Obviously very popular choice! Looks great too. So tried the second link which seems as good and put the discount code in. Hope I've done it right. Now for juice! Doubt we'll get it tomorrow though, we're about to be snowed in. Have to manage on the toy ones for now.
