Right guys, I think I've got it now (I didn't even know you could pull the contact bit out). So I've pushed the gromit thing up as far as I can - as in the pic kindly posted by robbie, BUT I still can barely see the air hole. I'll try again later.

davess I can't do pics ... we make a good team Take the bottom off remove the wick look down the shaft and you can see the centre pin I pushed this down with a Parker pen refill ..I then got hold of the other side ie the part protruding from the botom of the threaded section with a set of pliers and pulled it out ...you can then see the grommet again I used the pen refill and pushed the grommet up ...pushed the pin back in from the bottom put the wick back on put it all back together and hey presto!!!! One working nova Thanks fagsareus, that's almost as good as pictures - I think I'll give that a try shortly and see what happens (and hope for the best).

The Government won't miss out on this believe me. We're already one of the highest taxed countries in the world and nothing will ever change that.

davess I had to take mine apart and push the grommet up a little to get mine to work . I'd need pictures fagsareus as I'm mechanically inept at DIY I'm sorry to say

Grommet on my nova doesn't go any further, and covers the airhole. Haven't put any juice in it to try it yet. The other CE5 is good though, spring loaded end, weird internal wicky thing and vapes lovely. Will have to come up with a better solution for the nova grommet later. Oh, Ego batteries also seem good, which is lucky as my 2 rivas are now starting to reach full charge disturbingly quickly. Did you try just pushing down the Nova firmly on a flat surface Dave Vader. I think the centre contact moved back into the Nova by about a mm which made all the difference. Might be an idea to unscrew the top a bit before you do it to give it a bit of freedom. Have you got a link for the CE5 with the spring loaded contact? Thanks. I've tried doing that to my Nova's from Fasttech robby with no luck unfortunately. So I've emailed them and explained the problem and I'm awaiting a reply.

E-cigs are available everywhere now it seems. I noticed at least five shops selling stuff today in a quarter of a mile area where I live. That is great! I hope they are not all the £3.99 cartomiser brand..... Actually those are OK if sold with a large pinch of salt to go with the "40 cigarettes-worth". One was a Bricks & Mortar shop and their stuff (large range of clearo's and batteries) did seem expensive TBH, but the other shops seemed to be quite reasonable from what I could see.

Yes please - mine's not arrived yet, but if I have some idiot-proof instructions on how to get it working when it arrives, that would be great Nice one!! violetbladeI think I may have found an easier fix, having just stripped it, when you take the centre post out you can just see the hole (or part of it). If you take the Nova out of the box, hold it upright on a smooth firm surface and push down on the Nova. On the one I hadnt taken to bits it cured the problem. When you push down firmly it pushes the grommet up enough to fully expose the airhole in the gnurled base and provide the necessary air. Both the novas now have a good air supply and the centre post is now sticking out less from the centre tube. It has possibly just been a factory assembly problem where they havent realised the importance of making sure the grommet is firmly home. That is the white grommet as far as it will go, so maybe something to look at with a poor draw on these on an ongoing basis. The hole was half covered before the grommet was pushed down, ie. out of the box. Nice one, robby. I received mine today so I'll give that a go later.

I wouldn't have touched the clearos/novas etc on fast tech, they all look cheapo and we all know what they're like. The CE4s I've had off them seem pretty good to be honest, and it was a gamble on the novas, I've sent em a message about the novas, lets see what they say I don't really mind either way, £3 novas are always gonna be just that, it's a risk I knew before buying them and accepted that Yeah and so did I. At £3 it was worth a gamble, but the old saying about being bitten twice is applicable here. If the Nova's are no good I won't be tempted a second time. At the end of the day, you only get what you pay for.
